Hello,

Please authenticate this Coach bag.

Item: Coach signature multi-stripe bag (?)
Listing No.: N/A See Comments
Seller/Site: Part of Threadup coach rescue box - would not recommend. Two of the five bags were definite fakes.
Link: N/A
Comments: Size: L= 10"; W=12"; Depth = 2". View attachment 5062905

I read somewhere that if the textile made-in tag inside the bag has a little white dot on it, that means it is coming from the outlet store. Like this one has the white dot.

Just checking if anyone can confirm if this info is correct. Thank you!

Your signature tote is authentic, made in 2008.

I'm curious why you'd question authenticity of a bag you personally bought from an outlet store. Except in the extremely rare case of a dishonest customer doing a switch, buying directly from Coach is safe.

On an authentic bag, this is correct, but it's pretty simple for the counterfeiters to put dots, bullet stamps, "legitimate" serial numbers, and tags on fakes. Even receipts are faked. And we've seen all of the above.

I want to sell this item and have been accused of it being a fake. I used to live close to an outlet, so I have quite a bit of their stuff, however, I am trying to learn about their authentication system which I am learning is more pieced together information (some great sources I have found along the way) since Coach does not authenticate their stuff.

Thank you for your input, I sincerely appreciate it! I have not been able to find this bag online at all in any searches for myself. I know where I got it, but with selling it, it is my word and my direction of where to look up information that I can offer to someone (if that makes sense).

Ugh, that's frustrating! It's a 13 year old bag so there may not always listings of the same style available to compare. And because it was made to be sold at the factory outlet stores, there aren't catalogs available with the item.

Does the person say why she believes it to be fake? Can you direct her here or to ebay's fashion community discussion board and she can voice her concerns?

All they said is you can look at it and tell and then said it has too many numbers. I gave them some educational material and asked that they please research the Coach style number system. I will also let them know they can pursue this forum and others like it. It is beyond frustrating sometimes, but, eh... some folks just like to argue to argue!
Thank you again for your help :)
