If I remember correctly the second bag is a wool fabric.

BTW, PLEASE don't spend time taking photos of the brand name stamped on the zipper. I just posted this to another member, that post may bejust a few posts above this one), please read what I had to say about the "YKK Zipper nonsense". There are few things more likely to raise my blood pressure than a photo or question about YKK zippers, those lies have been floating around since Noah built the Ark and they're just as wrong now as they were then:

" ...Zipper brands have absolutely NO connection to whether or not a Coach is authentic. Read the signature under every one of my posts. Or if it doesn't show on your phone app, here it is, and please read it and take it to heart:

"Ignore any "Rules" you find in those useless online Authenticity Guides, they're almost ALL wrong - outdated, only true for a few styles, partly true only for a few years, or were never true in the first place, including the ridiculous YKK Zipper Rule. YKK zippers on a Coach DON'T prove it's genuine. Coach has used at least TEN different brands of metal, nylon, and even plastic zippers including several unmarked styles, anyone can buy genuine YKK zippers, and many fakes have FAKE YKK zippers. How hard is it to fake a zipper?"

I wish I could help but I'm a newbie here......hope you get a thumbs up for it

Welcome to tPF!

As with any new site, it's best to read the rules, and tPF's can be complicated. The main site rules are easy to find, check the links at the bottom of each page. But for authentications, each major brand here that has its own forum also has its own set of rules for authentication. Coach authentication rules are fairly liberal although we still reserve the right to ignore a question if the Rules and requirements aren't met, but some brands place strict limits on what they will authenticate and in what kind of buying or selling situation.

The requirements for each brand authentication will usually be posted in the first post(s) of their authentication thread, and/or repeated at the top of each page as they are here at Coach. The rule common to all forums and brands is that only authorized authenticators for that brand, the ones with "authenticator" under their avatar, are allowed to offer authentication opinions. Even "just helping" or anything that might be taken as a positive or negative approval or opinion by someone who's not officially approved to authenticate isn't recommended. Regardless of someone's apparent qualifications or whether they also authenticate on other sites, only forum management is allowed to name any member here a qualified and authorized authenticator. We do our very best to make sure that the opinions members receive are as accurate and dependable as possible and although we'll sometimes ask for other forum members' opinions, we discourage non-authenticators from saying something that might be taken as an official authentication. Often, new members aren't aware of this, so I just wanted to mention it.

Hello! I was interested in this bag but the serial number looks fishy, can the experts please take a look. it is on eBay- COACH Bucket Drawstring Black Leather X Large bag purse 9166 Vintage USA
the listing number :284256410918
the seller: thefinishtouch
link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-Buck...410918?hash=item422f009d26:g:-KsAAOSwlaRgdcno

Thanks!

We've seen some other "Coaches" with "0" year codes and "G" plant codes, from several different months in 2000. The fonts used in both the serial numbers and creed stamps are all different are different which is a big red flag. The bags you're asking about in addition to the assumed fake G plant code, has at least 2 more red flags - the N month code is invalid, and the creed stamp is actually on the wrong part of the pocket in style 9166, in a different position from almost every other Coach.

So the bag from " thefinishtouch " is fake, and all the other G plant codes with "0" year codes and maybe "9" codes as well also appear to be fake too.

Here are the others in my files, including the new one, N0G-9166 just discussed. Click on the thumbnails:

ETA - Here's an example of where the creed stamp is SUPPOSED to be in style 9166, above the inside pocket, not on it:

Thank you!

Dear Authenticators, I bought this purse from Poshmark - it looked fine and it still does (to me), but there is strange mark on the creed. An X, but not in the corner as it would normally be if it was marked for discount stores. Should I worry about this? Or was just the mark misplaced?
I attach the link but I posted more pictures as now I have the bag.

Item: Coach clutch purse
Seller and site where listed: m10drich, Poshmark

Comments: x mark on creed?

Thank you so much!!
There's nothing wrong with it. Special stamps aren't always put in the exact same place. The name of the style and line isn't in my files but that "bee applique" design dates from 2005-06 and was used in many bags and accessories.

BTW, it's NEVER necessary to post photos of the brand stamped on a zipper unless we ask for it. Zipper brands have absolutely NO connection to whether or not a Coach is authentic.

So that's the X stamp then, good to know.

Thank you so much!!
The bag is called a straw motif demi and I happen to have a picture of a tag from the bag.(INterestingly, it didn't have "bumble bee" in the name of the style although if selling the bag, I recommend using the key words.)

FYI, the "X" stamp differs from outlet bullet stamp is the X indicates a bag that was liquidated and isn't eligible for warranty. Often, there's nothing wrong with the bag but once sent to discounters (TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Nordstrom Rack, etc.) the warranty became invalid.
