Where is the seller located? (Just curious but I'm guessing Philippines!)

I don't believe the bag is authentic though it's not as obvious a fake as the first one.

I don't feel comfortable recommending the seller or her items and just because an influencer supports the business doesn't mean the influencer knows the brands. (And do you know that the influencer isn't "connected" to the seller?)
Yes, you are correct! It’s from the Philippines. I am not sure if that influencer is connected to the seller though. Its so sad since the bag is fake again. Took a risk to gave in :( my bad. Thanks so much BeenBurned! Noted on this.

Hello,

I posted this request for authentication before. I purchased two bags in a lot from shopgoodwill.com. You were able to authenticate the poppy bag. However, the creed was not verifiable for the small side pack. I now have pictures. Thank you.

It's fine.

Hi,
Thanks for getting back on this.
Seller is shopalamodebags on instagram. I trusted the seller again because a known influencer who I follow supports the business. Also, I really like the bag tried to check everywhere but the bag is sold out.

I also hope you know that "influencers" get paid in real money for their opinions and how their followers act on them. Some of them earn tens of thousands of dollars, and the really well-known ones like the Kardashians and other celebrities can make MILLIONS. And that's US dollars.

So keep reminding yourself that many of those people who are getting paid to promote certain products and sellers have thousands, maybe millions, of reasons to persuade their "followers" to buy the things they're recommending. Money is a great way of convincing them to believe or pretend to believe the fantasies and outright lies that they're told, if they can make good money by doing it. Maybe some are doing it because they really think they're helping people, but if there was no cash to be made by being an "influencer" there would be a LOT fewer of them.

They're basically selling on commission and getting paid by clicks, and unlike the sales assistants in a department store trying to convince you that this wonderful new anti-ageing cream will make you look like you're 17 again, they don't even have to look you in the eye and make you think that they're telling you the truth when they do it.

rHOc8hnTQDuodQqmYvywjw_thumb_8c.jpgHey hi hello. Hoping for your expert opinions on two Coach #9455 "Bonnie Cashin" zip top clutch bags that belonged to my dad's late girlfriend. I'm a little curious about the serial number labels as they're glued on over blanks? Both bags had these little drawstring bags in the pockets with the contents displayed as well as two shoulder straps each, one single and one double. The black one has a little mildew which I can clean up.
The "Factory" booklet refers to a "recent" book released in 1977, which may give a clue to the age of these bags. Any help much appreciated!

Both are genuine. The glued-in strips with the stamped serial number is how Coach inserted the number in the late 1970s or very early 1980s. Sometimes the strips would come loose and get lost. They're probably NOT a Cashin style, Coach also had their own in-house designers in the Cashin Era (1962-1974) and the two bags are correct for those Coach originals. Since Cashin parted company with Coach in 1974 and as you pointed out the "Factory" booklet was printed no earlier than 1977, they're not "Cashin-era" bags either. Genuine Coach bags designed by Cashin usually but not always would have one of her labels, or special lining, or both.

They're both Basic Bags, style number 9455. The 2-tone was called a Spectator color combination. All the paperwork and inserts are original. The same bag was called a Zippered Clutch in the 1970s and the name changed to Basic bag some time in the 1980s, although those dates are just guesstimates. Here are catalog pages for both, click on the thumbnails to open them.

The date on one of those booklets is 1980.
