Style 9951 is a Patricia's legacy ON AN AUTHENTIC bag but I believe that the bag from joelouise12 is fake.

I have quite a few examples in my records of bags with United States R plant codes, most of which are fake and the remainder marked as questionable. Personally, I wouldn't buy any US "R" plant bag!

The creed of the bag in question matches one of the fakes I have in my records.

ETA: The bag is definitely fake. The zipper is incorrectly installed.

ETA #2: seller also sold this fake:

Good morning authenticators,
I asked about this one before but my post may have gotten buried. I know you all are busy! Can you take a look at this one? It arrives tomorrow and I think it is likely a fake-so I want to be able to return it right away if so!

Comments: The creed looks to be from before style numbers were used, but the style number is correct for the bag. Also, the material around the zipper is a different color than the bag.
It's fine, from 1994.

Could I have this bag authenticated? I see a lot of red flags with the creed. I informed the seller that I would be passing on it. She asked why, I explained why, told her she could come here to get her bag authenticated & she informed me that she uses a high end consignment shop for authentication so I don’t think she’ll be posting here:

Yea, the listing didn’t have a creed pic which is how I ended up having a convo with the seller. I was so excited about the colour until I saw the creed lol.

Thanks @BeenBurned. She said she’ll be getting it authenticated from a consignment shop so Im not gonna push it further. I sent her the link to this thread though, incase she decides to get a second opinion..

The color is gorgeous. I am so glad you inquired about it here. In my less-informed days, I would have just bought it lol

Hi ladies . Just a quick question about the creed on this bag . I have never seen one with some many characters. This is not a bag I am buying or selling, just curious if it is a fake for my own curiosity. Thank you !

Although having a "correct" style number doesn't mean that the bag is authentic but in this case, the bag is authentic.

Regarding the number of characters, there seem to be a lot because the plant code is a 2-digit one and the style number is shown as 5 digits. When Coach began using 5-digit style numbers, they reformatted the 4-digit style numbers to comply with the new numbering.

Really?? I thought for sure it was a fake! What's up with the different color material around the zipper? Have you seen that before?
It was made in 1994, so it isn't from before style numbers were used. That is why the style number is in the creed, as well as the month, year and factory codes. For earlier bags, Coach didn't match the zipper to the leather. All zippers were either black or navy. I can't remember which year they changed, but when they changed, they phased it in gradually, using up the old zippers first. After they switched the inside pocket zippers changed from metal to nylon.
