I'm curious about this one. The creed's font doesn't seem correct for the C plant in 1997. I'd like confirmation of my suspicions.

Same seller, same item on multiple venues:

Etsy PittsburghClockshop:

Ebay allegheny_city_vintage:

Bonanza AlleghenyCityVintage's booth

TIA.

I'm not seeing any problems. It matches this one from my files. I don't have pictures of that style number in my files.

I've never seen it before either. Genuine, but it doesn't look very practical, the Court Bag-type top handle doesn't look as secure as a riveted one, and that - not sure what to call it, "slit and ball"? type attachment on the ends of the shoulder strap doesn't exactly inspire confidence (see pic). Some of the Sheridans and Dakotas had that and while it might be ok on a handbag, I wouldn't trust it on a briefcase especially knowing how heavy one of those laptops from the mid to late 1990s could be, sometimes 8 or 9 pounds in full Business/Office mode plus maybe a separate floppy drive (memories are vague but weren't they separate back then?). And that kind of strap attachment can really be a PITA to use.

Before looking for or buying another Coach product, PLEASE read all six Salearea Guides, the link to the thread is pinned to the top of every index page in this subforum. And STOP looking at the names on the zippers! Haven't you EVER read my signature statement under every one of my 29,979 posts? I even did it in Purple to make it pretty. :crybaby:

It's genuine.

Hello,
I am hoping to authenticate this Coach 9966. I appreciate any feedback! I purchased it on Tradesy about a month ago. Link:

It's a genuine Legacy Zip made in 1997.

This place CAN be confusing. It takes time to get comfortable with it. A few things to keep in mind to keep frustration to a minimum:
Posting the link to a listing you're asking about usually means that you don't have to post the listing's photos here along with your question. As long as the listing photos can be seen by the general public, we can use those to authenticate. If we need more information or photos, we'll ask.

and

Many forums, subforums or long threads here have some sort of rules about posting - what's allowed, what isn't, and what that thread or forum includes. Try to find that "Post Number One" whenever possible to be sure you're posting in the right place and following its rules. This is especially important with authentication threads like this one because almost every authentication thread for every major brand here has its own individual set of rules, so be sure to look for them. There can be major differences among them, so never assume that what's allowed for one brand is allowed for all of them.

And just like with any new or unfamiliar forum, always read the Terms And Rules usually found in a link at the bottom of each page.

Welcome to tPF!
