Good evening experts,
Could you have a look at this large backpack (the seller listed as 9960 but the creed clearly says 9791)? Thanks!!!

Seller: kayt_1103

It's definitely the 9791 LARGE Daypack, not the standard 9960. Genuine, from 1998.

We always remind everyone to never depend on sellers to get names, dates of manufacture, designers, etc correct. And in this case, style numbers, even when the number is right in front of someone's nose.

'Nuff said.

Thanks for the authentication and for confirming the style number! The larger one is what I’m looking for so this works out great but yeah I don’t know why it would be listed as a 9960...

Some sellers are so clueless they never actually read the creed and don't realize the style number is there. They just find a similar listing and use the information from it.

Hello.
I just bought a bag on Poshmark
I made a mistake of not looking up the model number on the tag that was posted before purchasing it.
The code numbers do not pull up anything similar. I searched for hours about Coach Swagger bags and still couldn’t find the wristlet model in this specific patchwork design and black color.

Can you please please help me authenticate it so I can cancel the purchase (or return right away) if it seems to be fake.

Link to the Poshmark listing:

Thank you thank you thank you!

I'm not an expert on newer styles but I don't see any red flags that would make me think it was fake. Not all styles leave an internet trail, especially the styles from 3 to 7 years ago where the only style number besides the one on the price tag was buried at the bottom of an inside pocket.

BTW, it's not a wristlet, it's a Crossbody.

ETA - See next post

ETA - BINGO !!!!!

It just took a bit of digging through the Wayback Machine. From their saved page of Coach Crossbody bags from August 12, 2016, scroll down to the fifth row:

Style 66392, Swagger Wristlet etc etc. There's no picture on the item page but there is on the August 12 Wayback page.

So it's a Wristlet AND a Crossbody.
Don't ever assume something's fake just because you can't find it on the internet.

Who? Sweet Widdle me? (briskly polishes her halo). I don't remember, but I'm sorry.

Anyway, it's genuine, so at least I can give you some good news. It's a 24cm Signature Duffle made in 2013. The measurement was actually part of the style name.

It's authentic but it never hurts to check the seller's history in the posts here:

Thanks BeenBurned for the authentication and the heads up on the seller’s history! It’s concerning that she doesn’t check her bags first before listing them. Though for this bag I’m more worried about the vague pictures and description. As much as I love the Devon I think I’ll pass on this one. Thanks again!

Personally, I have more of a problem with sellers who mix vs. sellers who only sell fakes. IMO, mixers are more dangerous because buyers trust them and don't realize that there's a mix. (There aren't any current fakes at this time in her listings; just pointing out that there have been problems.)
