The serial number and font look ok, and there don't seem to be any red flags. It looks genuine.

Thank you! My DH distracted me with flowers (the kind I get to go plant in the yard, that is), so I missed bidding. Someone got a good deal, imvho. I'll just tell myself the color was too close to my chalk archival Rambler. lol

I just want to have this double-checked. I purchased it, and if authentic, it was a great deal. I am attaching a photo of the creed; additional photos are in the bay listing.

Sorry--I was trying to put this as an add-on to my earlier post and hit the wrong button--now I don't see an option to delete this. I am working on the assumption that it is authentic, but the leather feels slightly off--almost like it was washed.

I don't see any obvious problems in the photos. And photos are the only thing we can use to judge a bag. You might want to take a slightly damp cloth and lightly rub it over a hidden area on the back or bottom to see if anything rubs off.

You can only edit or add something to a post for a very short time, you can't edit it a day later.

Thanks! That makes sense--and that explains why I couldn't edit. Nothing seems to rub off. It feels like Coach leather; just like it was maybe washed or something. I used the Coach cleaner and leather moisturizer to good effect. It was a great price, I saw it last minute, and it looked authentic to me, so I decided to buy and verify authenticity after the fact (something I wouldn't do bad the price been a lot higher). Thank you!

I have the archival Rambler in blue that came out the same time. The leather on mine is shinier than normal. I don't know if the leather on yours would be similar. I used Obenaufs on mine to try to reduce the sheen.

Hi. I would like to get some help with authentication. Thanks in advance!

So gorgeous! It's a Madison Copley bag, made in 1996 in Italy. The leather is like caviar leather. That isn't the original dustbag. I would double check with the seller as to the color. I can't decide if it is black or navy.

Thank you Whateve for the quick response! And I messaged the seller about the color and dust bag. She replied that it's a bluish black... And she said it's the original dust bag. I just want to be sure.. So is it authentic?

Yes it's authentic. The dustbags didn't look like that back then. The seller may have gotten the dust bags mixed up. They had special Madison dust bags that were tan felt and they said "The Madison Collection" on them.

Did all Madisons come with the special tan felt bag? I've got some earlier ones (94 & 95) that came with brown dustbags the seller claimed were the originals in the listing (of course, the sellers are quite likely to be mistaken). My oldest Madison with a tan "The Madison Collection" dustbag is a 96. Is it more likely outlet bags could have come with a brown dustbag due to being shipped around?
