Yikes! That looks terrible. I wonder how that happened. Could it have been added by the consumer? I also don't like the unfinished edge along the zippered pocket. However, the creed looks really good.
Yes, I saw that everything added up for the Creed.
Maybe it was added by Coach by an employee, for an employee or some other scenario . . .

Please Help Thanks!

Comments: Hello I am new to the forum, I love Coach! I bought a couple bags from poshmark. However i am not sure they are authentic bags could you help me out please.
I think you posted the khaki and fuschia hobo twice on 2 different pages. I can't find the one in this post.
It's seller antjon1927 (No spaces between name and number)

I don't generally authenticate Poshmark listings because I don't want to recommend or support the site but the bag is authentic.

Dear authenticators, request to authenticate please. Thank you!

Item: Small case
Where purchased or how obtained: thrift store
Comments: Dimensions are 5" height, 2" width and 1 3/4" depth. Strap is about 13 1/2" long. Lined with black fabric. Too small for a phone or eyeglasses case. I am so curious what this cute case would be used for. Make-up? Pens? I am dying to find out what purpose this item was intended.

It's authentic, style 8017 and was originally made for the old Nokia phones. (it's probably from around 2000.)

ETA: I'm catching up after a beautiful 80 degree day away from the computer. I see that @Hyacinth already authenticated this one.

Speaking of Etsy and absurd prices, is this bag fake? I know I’m a far cry from the preeminent experts who share their knowledge with us, but that hardware and the serial number prefix seem strange to me. Am I correct that Coach never used R as a month designator?

item: Vintage COACH Willis 9927 Top Handle British Tan Brown Leather Classic Handbag Purse Crossbody Shoulder Brass Hardware

Seller: lunascurationco

they have another bag for sale that I think may also be potentially fake; it has a P plant designation and the creed states it was made in the US. I know I’m super new to this, so if I’m wrong, I’m wrong, but these seem off to me.
The top dowel seems to be missing the leather covers on the ends, the back of the turnlock has indentations for the prongs, and No, Coach has never used "R" as a month code. Official month codes only went up to M but rarely an N might slip through, but that's as high as the month codes should ever go UNLESS the serial number prefix digits got scrambled when they were stamped, which has happened more often than most people realize.

As for the P plant, we'd have to see a photo or a link. Plenty of stamping mistakes have been made in Coach plants.
That's not the only fake that lunascurationco has.

And this was mentioned and IS also fake!

lunascurationco has 3 fakes out of 4!

The problem is that there are certain people from other "unfriendly" sites and Facebook pages who use our site as a source for their own purchases and bids, and take advantage of our authenticators' expertise instead of depending on their own more error-prone in-house "experts". Some have been mentioned before. Then they mark their "finds" up 300 percent or more - I think 900 percent is the record so far - and wait for gullible buyers.

So if you ever see a bag that you were outbid on, or that disappeared before any official sale was completed, and that's marked up obscenely from the original bag's price, don't buy it.

And I don't authenticate listings by " zyanyatreasures " either, like at least one other authenticator here. Sorry.

Some sellers are more "unfriendly" than others.
Thank you, Hyacinth! That explains it. I know value is subjective, but I’ve seen no shortage of bags that could use some serious TLC being sold for, in my opinion, absurdly high prices, especially on Etsy. And thank you for letting me know about the seller zyanyatreasures. I looked up their name here and found that BeenBurned doesn’t authenticate their items, but that Devon was so pretty, I figured I might as well shoot my shot here. I won’t be buying from them.
Just to clarify, authenticators (and posters) on TPF get no compensation for their time, advice and expertise. We volunteer our time and expertise as time, jobs, family and real life allow.

And as such, as per post #1 on the first page of this thread, "Authenticators are not required to answer every request and it is their right to ignore a request that is not in the proper format."

And more specifically, in this long thread on the very subject, there are many posts over the 82 pages that state that any member can ignore any request or any member they choose and for any reason or for no reason. The following are just a couple of posts.

Because it's come to our attention that we've been criticized for not authenticating certain sites and/or certain sellers and are (said to be) illegally costing such sellers business, I'm explaining why some posters may be ignored, some posts of some sellers' listings may be ignored and some sites may be recommended against. And there's nothing illegal about it!

Hi! Could you please look at this one for me when you get a chance?

It looks fine.
Aaaand a follow up question - what IS this bag? 9”x6.5”x2” and with that pocket and that strap, I don’t recognize the style. Thanks again :D

And you all are awesome. When I first joined tPF, I felt like I was doing something illegal. Like I’d snuck in through the back door of the archives and was retrieving messages that couldn’t possibly be free of charge. Like, who pays them to do this??? And why haven’t I had to pay to join? I was baffled. Still am! All of your knowledge and passion and the whole community that I stumbled upon is truly a rare gift. Thank you for everything you do!

I noticed the handle wasn’t tapered either.
