Dear authenticators, request to authenticate please. Thank you!

Item: Small case
Where purchased or how obtained: thrift store
Comments: Dimensions are 5" height, 2" width and 1 3/4" depth. Strap is about 13 1/2" long. Lined with black fabric. Too small for a phone or eyeglasses case. I am so curious what this cute case would be used for. Make-up? Pens? I am dying to find out what purpose this item was intended.

You're forgetting - cell phones weren't always wide and flat!

It's a genuine phone case, probably from the very early 2000s. There are several listed on Ebay.

ETA - There's a version in Sig fabric in the upper right corner, Fall 2001 catalog:

Here I go again! I purchased a Coach Willis Station bag last year and got burned (although they did refund me half the cost and I gifted it to a family member who was fine with the fake). So, I thought I'd try again and this is what I got.

I feel like the creed numbers don't look correct and the fact that the finish is coming off of the turnlock and the stitching from around the leather there make it seem like a counterfeit to me. I have more photos...just let me know if I need to upload more.

I appreciate any help y'all can give me! Thanks!

The problem is that there are certain people from other "unfriendly" sites and Facebook pages who use our site as a source for their own purchases and bids, and take advantage of our authenticators' expertise instead of depending on their own more error-prone in-house "experts". Some have been mentioned before. Then they mark their "finds" up 300 percent or more - I think 900 percent is the record so far - and wait for gullible buyers.

So if you ever see a bag that you were outbid on, or that disappeared before any official sale was completed, and that's marked up obscenely from the original bag's price, don't buy it.

And I don't authenticate listings by " zyanyatreasures " either, like at least one other authenticator here. Sorry.

Some sellers are more "unfriendly" than others.

The brown one is a genuine Legacy Small Flap.
Thank you, Hyacinth! That explains it. I know value is subjective, but I’ve seen no shortage of bags that could use some serious TLC being sold for, in my opinion, absurdly high prices, especially on Etsy. And thank you for letting me know about the seller zyanyatreasures. I looked up their name here and found that BeenBurned doesn’t authenticate their items, but that Devon was so pretty, I figured I might as well shoot my shot here. I won’t be buying from them.

Speaking of Etsy and absurd prices, is this bag fake? I know I’m a far cry from the preeminent experts who share their knowledge with us, but that hardware and the serial number prefix seem strange to me. Am I correct that Coach never used R as a month designator?

item: Vintage COACH Willis 9927 Top Handle British Tan Brown Leather Classic Handbag Purse Crossbody Shoulder Brass Hardware

Seller: lunascurationco

listing number: I’m not sure if this is applicable

they have another bag for sale that I think may also be potentially fake; it has a P plant designation and the creed states it was made in the US. I know I’m super new to this, so if I’m wrong, I’m wrong, but these seem off to me.

It's genuine. The chipped finish was shown and mentioned in the seller's listing, Ebay usually considers that as "disclosing a flaw". The creed and serial number details and fonts are correct for the year and the China plants. The mid-2000 decade classic bags were mostly made in China specifically for the outlets and even the leathers left something to be desired compared to the older examples.

So not important but I speak several languages, can you tell me if I was correct to call this piece a phone case in English? Just asking and thank you !

The top dowel seems to be missing the leather covers on the ends, the back of the turnlock has indentations for the prongs, and No, Coach has never used "R" as a month code. Official month codes only went up to M but rarely an N might slip through, but that's as high as the month codes should ever go UNLESS the serial number prefix digits got scrambled when they were stamped, which has happened more often than most people realize.

As for the P plant, we'd have to see a photo or a link. Plenty of stamping mistakes have been made in Coach plants.

Yes, "phone case" or "cell phone case" are both common American English phrases for any type of cell phone case, even if they're 20 or 30 years old. Note the Ebay Search I ran was worded "Coach vintage phone case" and brought up 35 examples.

by the way, there is no such thing as a Willis station bag. Willis and station bag are too different styles. This bag is called a Willis.

I thought it was interesting that there was a Coach cartouche printed on the outside of the bag. I don’t think I noticed it on this style before. Was this done for this style and I just have missed it?
Yikes! That looks terrible. I wonder how that happened. Could it have been added by the consumer? I also don't like the unfinished edge along the zippered pocket. However, the creed looks really good.

If you mean the red bag with the C2P-9820 serial number, yes, it's fake. Not only is the serial number fake but the back of the turnlock has indentations, which Coach never used in handbags AFAIK unless they've added them in the last few years (or were replaced by non-Coach turnlocks). They've been used by Coach in briefcases since 1996 but never in handbags.
