Why wouldn't fakes makers be able to make fakes with correct style numbers?

And "a code that matches the US factory" also means nothing. Are you getting that advice from some kind of internet guide? If you are, you need to PLEASE ignore that advice and every other piece of advice in whatever guide or source is making those claims. The DETAILS of the stamping are what matters, including the correct fonts, dates and plant codes in the stamping. Do you have photos of all the possible year, month and plant combinations so you can compare your examples with provable genuine examples? I have many of them, that file currently contains 1,891 creed and serial number photos. But that collection isn't even close to complete.

There were four US factories, which one does it match?

We keep telling everyone, Please don't try to authenticate your own items!

And I also keep telling everyone - Read the Salearea Guides.

ETA - And don't be sad! There's an enormous amount of time and effort and legwork and expense involved, both in terms of actual money spent and in the loss of the personal time we get to spend with our families. We spend the time and do the research so you don't have to.

@whateve told me to find that bag with that style number in them. I also read the information here on US factories and that is why I said the code matches, made in 1999. I don’t know where the four US factories are. I guess none of that matters if the scammers can fake it. That’s why I said my head is spinning because of all the variables.

I tried to read the Salearea guides but can’t find them. And a lot of the old information on this site when you click on the link, it’s dead. There is still info, historical, on the site I enjoy reading.

Again thanks for your time and expertise. This newbie is still learning.

I think when Whateve was telling you to look for style 9525, she was telling you how to find other Stewardess Bags. There's no guarantee that they're all going to be genuine, as you've found out already. A "correct" style or serial number can never prove a "Coach" is genuine, but a bad one can often prove something's fake.

As I've said before, Anything a maker can make, a faker can fake. There are so many small details to look for in things like serial numbers, and so many expert counterfeiters in places like China and Korea and the Philippines, that anyone who doesn't know all those details and tries to do it themself is going to run into trouble. We've seen it here before. The best thing to do is to learn the basics so the obvious fakes can be rejected right away, and if you don't have a chance to authenticate it here before buying, only buy from sellers, stores or websites that offer a full return and refund policy if you're not satisfied.

There's not much we can do here about dead links or missing photos. Old information has to get weeded out, and even Ebay only keeps item links for about 6 months. The internet ISN'T forever regardless of what some people claim, unless someone makes a concerted effort to keep information available if the original site decides to delete it, which is what we've done with the Salearea Guides and the fake Coach Numbers List.

As for the Salearea Guides, every Index page in this subforum has the link Pinned to the top of the index page. Click on the "Coach Shopping" link that takes you to this subforum and just scroll down a bt, the link will always be Pinned or Stickied near the top of the page. If you have a question about something in one of the posts or the Guides, just ask. Also, when you're going through old posts, don't go too far back, a lot of basic information and what people think of as "rules" have changed over the years, and what was true 5 or 10 years ago may have completely changed since then.

Here's the link, it's best to read the entire thread and at least glance through the Daria48 Fake Coach Numbers list too so you know where to find it:
