Oh I see. They never made them with a sort of accent in a different color there? The stitching doesn’t look like it breaks along the edge piping, but it’s hard to tell
There were some two tone bags but this isn't one of them. There are some that are inadvertently two tone. In those cases, most of the trim, not just one piece, is a different color, but there isn't such a stark difference in tone as in this case. It may not have been replaced but something is odd about it. Maybe it was cleaned with something that bleached it.

Hello! I hope everyone is doing good today.
Please tell me if this is authentic or a fake.

Item: Large Vintage Off White Coach Crossbody Handbag Coach 9525 USA
Seller: vintage by ic

I don't believe it is authentic. Did you buy it?
Oh boy! Is it the color? I haven’t seen a white bag in this style.
Oh okay. I know last time you told me to look for bags with that number in the creed, which has been hard! Lol

And when I do find one, it’s not real. Geez. I’m so glad I have you ladies helping me because my head is spinning.

Thanks
You have the seller ID incorrect. It's
Heather McGartland, Owner of VintagebyIC

You've learned why searching by style number and comparing isn't a dependable way of weeding out fakes.

Although this isn't a seller who I believe knowingly sells fakes, she has several.

Hello,
Would you please authenticate this kisslock pouch? It is a long style and I just love it if it is authentic. The hinges are marked "ideal" and I found a little info on that but not cThank you! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Vint...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2763.l2648

yes! I learned my lesson. I thought if the style number was in the creed it was authentic. The code matches to the US factory. So much I need to learn. This makes me sad.

thank you ladies

Hurray! Thanks everyone  Reading up on past Purse Forum posts I found a discussion on the retro hinges, Would this pouch be one of those vintage styles from 1991, The Retro Collection featured in the Limited Editions in Coach's 1991 50th Anniversary catalog? Am I on right track?
I don't remember this style being part of the retro collection. Without a creed, it's pretty hard to pinpoint a date. It is constructed similarly to some coin purses that were made for many years. These aren't the hinges we often see on early styles, the ones with the B. I don't think anyone has collected information on what brands of hinges Coach used when. We generally don't get into hardware brands for authenticating.

Why wouldn't fakes makers be able to make fakes with correct style numbers?

And "a code that matches the US factory" also means nothing. Are you getting that advice from some kind of internet guide? If you are, you need to PLEASE ignore that advice and every other piece of advice in whatever guide or source is making those claims. The DETAILS of the stamping are what matters, including the correct fonts, dates and plant codes in the stamping. Do you have photos of all the possible year, month and plant combinations so you can compare your examples with provable genuine examples? I have many of them, that file currently contains 1,891 creed and serial number photos. But that collection isn't even close to complete.

There were four US factories, which one does it match?

We keep telling everyone, Please don't try to authenticate your own items!

And I also keep telling everyone - Read the Salearea Guides.

ETA - And don't be sad! There's an enormous amount of time and effort and legwork and expense involved, both in terms of actual money spent and in the loss of the personal time we get to spend with our families. We spend the time and do the research so you don't have to.
