Hello, I bought this pouch several months ago when I started collecting. I was told that it is called New Travel Pouch Item#6929. the color is brown. It has Blue & cream cotton lining just like the skinny and chunky pouches. There is a brass YKK Zipper closure. Water/stain resistant fabric. Inside pocket. Carrying handel unsnaps on one side of the bag. It is 7" x 6" x 4". There is no creed but there is a brass circular Coach tag on the chain. Also a Coach stamp on bottom of bag. Thank you.

I can't read the Coach stamp on the bottom of the bag. However, I did find that style number on an item that looks just like yours in the 1999 Preview catalog, page 28 for those who have a copy. The zipper pull looks right. There's no mention of the lining, but that round brass or white metal Coach stamped button did NOT come with that bag, it's at least 8 years newer and is probably from a bag made in China, IF it's genuine. The style's official name is Classic Pouch and it's shown as "New" in that 1999 Preview catalog, "The New..." is NOT part of the name. I don't see anything that would make me think yours isn't genuine.

BTW, "YKK" zippers do not and never have had any connection to Coach authenticity and don't prove a thing, so please don't ever depend on them. Read the Signature at the bottom of every single one of my posts. And don't ever trust the nonsense and outright lies found in almost all anonymous online "authenticity guides".

That’ll do  I can’t help but ask. Sometimes you have the most unexpected explanations for things

When it comes to why Coach does the things they do, I have no concrete explanations, everything slips into the realm of fantasy and nonsense. They could just be results of someone flipping a coin, or someone coming back from a liquid lunch (or some other chemical enhancement) sloshed to the gills and trying to read a form on his desk asking for a final decision on the name of a new style when all the letters and words were not just blurry but also in duplicate and triplicate. How else do you explain something like this, style 9167?

So how in the Wide Wide World Of Sports are we supposed to make sense of ANYTHING that Coach does?

Thanks! Why do you think the brown suede crossbody has a creed but the same style in green doesn’t?
Because that's what someone at Coach decided.

While "that's what someone at Coach decided is correct," in this case, you're comparing SIMILAR but not identical bags. Someone at Coach decided that one style would have a creed and the other style wouldn't have a creed.

Aside from the different materials, compare the front pockets. The flaps are different, the buckles are different, there's stitching on the leather flap strap, etc.

I love this style name! I imagine someone at the perfume counter of a department store, putting their bag down on the counter while they try different fragrances.

It's authentic and though I don't know the full name, it's an Ergo bag.

The style has been well-faked.

Or another "maybe, maybe not" possibility - some upper level manager pics up the sample and thinks, "Hmmm, nice leather, this supplier really does good work. Let's see if the customers think so too, and if they do, we'll order more". Turns to his underling and says "make a note. I want this style kept on the top of the counter at all times, not way back in the display cases. I'd like to hear how our customers like the feel of this leather". Underling writes "TOP OF COUNTER" on his notepad right above the official name "Legacy Compartment" and passes it down to HIS underling who a day later, is trying to figure out the correct arrangement of the new official name and finally comes up with "Legacy Top Of Counter Compartment". And once again, Coach history is made.
