There's NO creed stamp or serial number, in fact I can't see anything that proves to me that it's a Coach product. There's a tiny "COACH" stamp at the very bottom of one of the main outside panels and that's all I can find. And even though an Entrupy COA is normally undependable anyway when issued for any Coach product, it's even more so in this case. There isn't any serial number or description or anything else that even an actual expert could use to authenticate that bag, which makes that COA completely worthless.

It's possible that the 2 white tags mentioned in Posts 1 and 2 as being required for authentication in newer bags are somewhere inside but since there aren't any photos of them there's nothing we can use to authenticate. All I can say is that it resembles a few recent styles but there's no way to prove it's genuine with the supplied photos or even guess how old it is. The only thing I feel comfortable saying is that IF it's a real Coach it's probably no more than about 10 years old.

If you already bought it, look for or feel around for those 2 tags, one with the "made In ..." information and the other with 2 lines of numbers and letters that include the production codes and style number that are described in Posts 1 and 2 of this thread and post photos.
Thank you so much for the valuable information.

If it is authentic, it was made around 2012 and there won't be a tag with the production codes and style number but there should be a made in tag. It is impossible to tell if it is authentic from those pictures.

Comments: Hi! New to the forum, hoping to obtain some more information about this bag. I'm fairly sure it's a fake but I wanted to be certain. It does not have a creed patch and the hanging tag seems a little iffy to me, but I am by no means an expert so I thought I'd reach out to see if anyone with more expertise could help me out. The tag on the inside also seems to say "Made In..." but it was cut off by the previous owner (I presume). Any thoughts or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Can you authenticate this bag please?
Seller: shopgoodwill.com
Item #97530162
Size: 10X10

Thanks - looks to be a light blue and the last light blue I had authenticated was a fake.

It's actually genuine, but it's not "vintage"since it won't hit the 20 year old mark until 2025. The color in real life should be a slightly darker shade than what's in the photo, if not then it's badly faded. Made in China in 2005.

Is this going to be a rehab project? That bag looks like it needs some TLC.

Oh wow, thank you so much! Yes, it is noticeably darker in color than how the lighting in the photo made it look. I really appreciate your help!

P.S. - love the Keeping Up Appearances reference

Thanks - definitely a rehab - should the original color be more of the “pool blue”?

Hello Authenticators- I bought this bag at a thrift store in Florida, paid $20. At first glance it seems fake because of the turnlock and strap rivets, but I wonder if it might be authentic with some repair work done? I see holes in the leather where the original strap attachment was. Has anyone seen anything like this? Is it just a fake with really nice leather? Measurements match catalog description. Please let me know what you think.

Your bag IS authentic but Hyacinth had commented on a different listing that someone else had asked about. (You can tell what request an authentication was for by looking at the post it quotes.)

Welcome!

The bag is authentic but you're correct. Work has been done on it and changes made to hardware.

There's been a LOT of repair work done to that bag, and not by an expert either. The strap mountings have been changed and the ends of the strap re-stitched and maybe the strap was even shortened. The turnlock was replaced with a non-Coach version, the leather tabs on the bag for the strap mountings look like they may be original but have been taken apart at the top and then been very badly restitched and wouldn't have or NEED rivets on a Coach in original condition, the D-rings on them don't look original and in general the only parts that seem to be original are the main panels and inside pocket with the creed stamp, most or all of the contrast piping, and parts of the leather strap mountings.

Technically it's not fake but there have been some very non-professional repairs and replacements. It's not in original condition any more. It looks like it might be a City Bag.
