...is there a place here where I can further educate myself?
The SaleArea Guides! So much information I had to read it multiple times.

Hi!

I'd like to authenticate this bag before I give my rating. I jumped on the listing without seeing the creed. (I took a photo and attached it below.) I know that wasn't smart, but they always sell so fast and it's exactly what I've been looking for.

Item: GORGEOUS LIKE NEW Coach Zip Top Bag
Site: Mercari
Seller: Kery Grimes
Link: https://www.mercari.com/us/item/m22677886254/?ref=search_results

I also wanted to thank everyone that helped me authenticate the last bag as I never hot back to say thanks! You all are so helpful and I jotted down the information so I can look out for it on other listings.

It looks fine.

Hello, could you please authenticate this eBay listing, the turn lock is different, possible replacement? or just a plain fake bag? Thanks.
Seller : coin-corner

The bag is authentic. I've never seen that type of turnlock.

ETA: She has 2 listings showing the same bag and same pictures but one of the listings shows a different serial number. I have no idea what kind of bag that one is!

Thanks BB. I made the payment, but will contact the seller, to make sure she send me the one with the pictured creed number. 020-0144.
I went back to check her other listings, that is very strange. Maybe she got so many listings and lose track of which was which.

Yeah, I looked at the other listings too and the only completed ones were for the same "2" items with the same pictures and titles. The only difference between the completed and the current were that the completed listings were auctions with starting prices at the same amounts that the current fixed price listings have as the BIN.

I have no idea where she could have gotten that other serial number!

Fabulous, thank you. I Just as I was writing this I saw the catalog page that you sent me, very nice info to have. Oh no, not mad, I’m now more knowledgeable. I just posted what this seller listed. Thank you for helping to educate me. I haven’t used this forum aside from asking for authentication but is there a place here where I can further educate myself? Thank you again.

This is for @Craigers, sorry I messed up the Quote!

I'm SO glad you asked! Shameless Self-Promotion, coming up !!!

At the top of every page in this sub-forum with an index of posts is a section with Pinned subjects. The one that says "Salearea Guides" will tell you more about Coach in a few pages of posts than you can find in hours of searching Google or DuckDuckGo, and the information will be a lot more accurate. The thread also includes Daria48's Fake Coach Serial Numbers List, which makes dull reading in general (Hey, she even admits it!) but there's some good information on fake Coaches and at least you'll know where to find the list in the future if you need it.

Start here:

ETA - Ooo, nice to know that someone else found all that information useful! At least I've done ONE positive thing with my life. Thanks, @Morgan_Bellini :flowers:

I wonder if that oddball turnlock was some owner's attempt at a monogram? It looks like it was cut into the metal by hand and not very accurately, I'm not sure if the green in the letters is from paint or verdigris.. The back of the turnlock looks normal.

Thanks for the reply, and it is most likely the case. The turn lock looks strange with those letters, but I have a fake Willis with good turn lock, I am going to switch the turn locks of the 2 bags. ( All hardwares of that fake Willis looks the same as authentic Willis).
