IMPORTANT READ-ME

Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread. No PMs please.
For further information, please refer to the first post on page 1 of this thread.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:
  • FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller and site where listed
    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Where purchased or how obtained
    Comments:
BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

Please read the first two posts from the forum manager and Moderator on page 1 of this thread and include the required information and photos.

There is no photo of the creed and serial number. Other details that we need are also missing including a URL or link to the actual action listing. That style was highly faked and cannot be authenticated using only the photos and information you have included. We don't recommend buying from ANY seller who will not include pictures that were taken by the seller of those details.

Thank you.

Hello, sorry I forgot to insert the creed. Here is the creed and other images that you might need. Please tell me if it's a fake or an authentic one. Thank you.

I just realised I didn't get this authenticated before I purchased and I think this seller has a history of selling fakes T_T

Item: Lafayette tote
Seller: mirandasmemries on Etsy
Link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/734689...how_sold_out_detail=1&ref=nla_listing_details

Thank you in advance.
Although that listing shows an authentic bag, one of the reasons we require seller IDs in requests is so you (or we) can search to see if the seller has a history.

In fact, this seller DOES have a history.

This Hall of Shame post from 2016 shows a fake that she had listed on multiple sites.

And after many reports of fakes, she was NARU'ed from ebay:
Ebay: mirandasmemories --- Not a registered user

And no longer on Bonanza: mirandasmemories' booth

She opened a new ID on ebay: good_6641

Thank you so much @BeenBurned I feel so relieved I didn't stuck with another lemon. Also learnt a new term today - NARU. Will take note of the new ebay ID too. Cheers :)

Hi I'm haunting this thread again

Item: Plaza bag
Seller: TheHouseOfNesbit on Etsy
Link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/810245076/vintage-coach-brown-shoulder-bag
Comment: I'm not sure if the number is supposed to be arranged like that. I thought it was supposed to have a dash at least?

Many thanks in advance.

There are a lot of variations as well as just plain mistakes in things like creeds and serial numbers. I researched, wrote and updated the Salearea Guides posted in the Pinned section at the top of almost every Coach Shopping page with a thread index to try and explain what's "normal", what's unusual but often genuine, and what's just plain fake. I strongly suggest reading them and even coming back every few months to read them again. They concentrate on classic and vintage Coach but much of the information covers newer Coach items too. It's best to start reading the thread from the beginning to get a few background details:

Those 8-number serials that are missing the hyphen is one of those "unusual but genuine" plant mistakes found in some late 1980s bags and mentioned in the Salearea guides. The bag is fine.

Thank you for the detailed explanation and link @Hyacinth I’d peruse the guides and level up my fake-detector accordingly :smartass:

Also this one--
Item: Station Bag
Seller: purchased at an estate sale, in my possession
Measurements: 9" L x 9.5" H x 2" DIMG_2496.JPGIMG_2497.JPG
Comments: Hope I didn't make a mistake with this one. I liked the red, but haven't seen an "A" plant code before.

Could you take a look at this Coach creed?
Item: station bag
Site: Facebook marketplace
Seller: Sandy Bornor
Link: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/941660932914561/?ref=messenger_banner
Comments: I asked her to send me photos of the creeds. This one is different. I've never seen a "G" plant stamp before and the font looks strange.
The only bag in the lot that we can authenticate is the station bag with the G plant. That one is authentic.

We need to see other pictures of the other bags to authenticate them.
