This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:
  • FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:

    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:

    Comments:
BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item

  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

The courier is okay but if Entrupy authenticated that black bag with the pictures shown, their credibility is worthless.

This is the enlarged and rotated creed of the courier.

Thank you so much ! When I received the bag the I was a little worried. The certificate of authenticity called it a “ brown turnover flip purse “?? I thought oh man I just got a fake bag !!

I also buy from shopgoodwill.com. Even if a "certificate of authentication" is included, I will ask for clear, legible and complete photos of the entire Coach creed, especially if such are not included in the auction description. Recently, their customer service reps have begun replying that since the bags are "authenticated" there's no need to provide those photos. REALLY???
I have contacted them about a few bags which appeared to be fake/counterfeit, and after they've researched the bag's authenticity, the listing(s) has been cancelled and removed.
I have found some really desirable vintage Coach bags at their site, but absolutely---buyer BEWARE---at shopgoodwill.com!!
I agree.... there was a fake rogue a few months ago. I contacted them but they allowed it to be sold. Someone paid good money for a fake bag !

Another complaint I have about the Goodwill sites is that in their listings, they state, "Note: Goodwill Industries of (wherever) states that this item has been posted in accordance with shopgoodwill.com's policy prohibiting the sale of counterfeit items. If you have any questions or concerns about the authenticity of this item please contact seller directly prior to bidding" but in order to contact them, you have to sign up on their website. Why should I have to give them my name, address, phone number and email address when I have no intention of doing business and just want to let them know they have a counterfeit item and I'm doing exactly as THEY request - contacting them!

And I am not even sure they do anything about an item that isn’t authentic.

Dear lovely authenticators, this thing is pretty but probably fake. If it is, I want to report.
Item: unknown tote
Item number: 124169301219
Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/124169301219
Seller: jc20621
Seller sent the following pic.
Thanks so much!
It's fake. It's hard to see but "scratches" is misspelled as "SCRTCHES" and it would have a serial number if it were authentic.

And the seller jc20621 has a history:

ETA: She also has this fake:

Not to mention the length of the interior pocket and the non-Coach zipper pull.

Hello Authenticators!

Thanks as always for you help so far. I’m looking for your help with these two bags: both style 4157, though they look really different - so I'm confused. (I'm not sure where I picked these up, likely garage sales.)

One is a mustard color, made in the DR. It’s an ugly creed with a weird Z which I know is common with DR bags. I also know the odds of a DR bag being faked are low and the leather is very soft and smooth like a CR bag. I saw a similar bag that was authenticated on this thread.

It is approx 12” across the top and 9” high. Strap drop about 13.5”.

The other is lime and made in the US. I’ve compared it to bags with the same serial and the stamp (even the overstamping) seems consistent – but why does this look different than the other 4157?

It is approx 8" across the top laying flat and 9.5” high. Strap drop about 14”.

They're both fine.

They look different because the gold (first) one has the sides pulled out flat whereas the green one has the sides tucked in.
