Do any of you recall seeing those types of buckles in gold? Even the fake bags with the buckles have always had silver hardware.

I also agree that the bag is fine but I'm not even sure that the hardware was from a genuine Coach bag.
See a difference in the shape/length of the buckle? (Here are a couple of angles.)

Yeah, I see the difference... How strange. Well, I guess the only good thing about having a couple of really wrecked old Coaches is that I have a spare set of genuine buckles that are of the correct time period. Getting a bunch of pink highlighter out and replacing buckles... Sigh. Big rehab job! Thankfully it's black though; black is pretty forgiving when it comes to ink removal. It'll take a while though.
Thank you all so very much for your input! It's always enlightening :)

And all of this because I liked the tapered strap. Hahaha! It's the little things sometimes I guess.

Hi, everyone!
Can you please take a look at this keychain? I just got my first vintage bag and I was so excited that I grabbed this keychain to use as a charm, but now I'm worried that I may have bought too hastily. I was able to find a couple of images from international Coach sites and the design is slightly different, particularly in the carriage wheel centers and the horse's eye. I'm really hoping it's a normal variation...

Thanks for your help, it's my first post, so I hope I did everything correctly!

I think the keychain is fine.

There have been cases in which Coach made changes and there are differences between the stock image and the final product. Whether they did it purposely to confound counterfeiters or if they did it because they changed their minds on what the item should look like, it does happen. In fact, I've seen cases involving bags, fobs, and other categories of items.

Here's an example of Coach's stock photo of the leather sun fob, style 92006.

And this is their actual item:

And because the counterfeiters don't always know what the actual version looks like, they assume and copy the stock image. The following is a comparison of a commonly seen fake next to the authentic versionl.

I assume you're the buyer? Unfortunately, the bag from magicwomyn1 isn't authentic.

Let the seller know it's fake and if she wants it back to supply a prepaid shipping label. If the seller doesn't comply or doesn't want to pay for return shipping, open a SNAD dispute and choose "doesn't seem authentic" as the reason. (That's ebay's verbiage, not mine!)

Edited to add:
There was actually a recent post on a different style bag with the same serial number and incorrect font. (Your fake at least is the "correct" style for what it's copying.)
