It's fine. Obviously not a city bag. It's a dinky.

We don't use names to authenticate, or assume that the seller even knows the correct name. Neither should a buyer. The only thing we use are the style numbers.

good to know! That's why I came here for help.

And right there is a good example of why we never put our trust in the name that a seller gives a bag in a listing, and neither should a buyer. Probably at least half the Coach sellers, including a few self-appointed "experts", haven't a clue about what the correct names of their items are.

Good evening! I fear I already know the answer to this authentication request. If Coach never made a bag like this in this color, they should have!

If this style number and creed patch are real, then I have learned nothing from years of reading here. Thank you in advance and please stay safe, all!

That's what I thought too, and that's why I am concerned that it's not a Coach. The original pictures didn't show the buckles or the inside of the bag, unfortunately because there's tons of ink marks in it too. The other 2 bags were good... I got them all a couple months ago, took one look at those ink stains and buckles that seemed from the wrong time, and just put it aside. I am doing home renovations, so I haven't had time to get to a project of this magnitude until now. Took a look at those buckles again though and thought they were all wrong for that old of a bag... If it's not the real deal, I still got 2 other bags at a good price, but I'll be kinda bumned all the same. And thank you for your response, btw! I appreciate it!

I don't think it is fake. The creed looks really good and all the other details you've shown look good. Do you have another classic shoulder bag you can compare it to, side by side? The buckles don't make sense. The original buckles wouldn't have worn out. I can't imagine any reason for changing them out.

I agree, the bag is genuine but the buckles were replaced. Maybe one of the rivets came off and the owner decided to change the buckles when she had it repaired (or the old buckle fell off and was lost when the rivet failed, so both buckles were replaced to match).

I'm sorry, you're right. It's absolutely fake. You have learned well.

Odd though that they sacrificed another Coach bag to get the buckles, or maybe they were from one of those sellers on ebay who tears bags apart to sell the parts. I would have just gotten generic buckles that looked close to the real ones.

I don't know what is going on with that hardware. It doesn't belong on a classic shoulder bag, and it doesn't belong on a bag from that era. All I can conclude is that someone replaced the buckles with buckles from another bag.

I'd like other authenticators to look at it.

Do any of you recall seeing those types of buckles in gold? Even the fake bags with the buckles have always had silver hardware.

I also agree that the bag is fine but I'm not even sure that the hardware was from a genuine Coach bag.
