You should also read the edits I just added. I wondered if it might be a Meyers but it just didn't look like an M and what little there was that was still readable didn't look like it included the name Cashin either.
Just did that.
I requested cancellation and seller cancelled the purchase. She insisted they were genuine. But I know who to avoid on eBay in the future. I really appreciate you and other Authenticators help very much, you just saved me $100 plus shipping on definitely 2 fakes and most likely 3. THANKS again.

I believe only one of the bags was fake. One was authentic and the other was probably not a Coach.

The creed is 4179 - Flatiron Sling. The style is correct. Everything on the bag is correct. It has an outlet stamp. Maybe that is why it has an "incorrect" digit?? Either way, I appreciate the service you offer to buyers and the knowledge you've accumulated over all these years. I've been a member of this forum since 2008 - and I know you've helped many people. Just maybe be kinder when talking about sellers. Kindness is good. Thanks!

Having the correct style number doesn't mean it is authentic. I agree with Hyacinth, it is fake. It doesn't have an incorrect digit - it has an incorrect font. There are other things wrong.

The serial font is one of the problems. Those Flatirons seemed to have a lot of "unusual" inconsistencies though. So far checking my files has brought up one from Nov 1997 with the Sonoma stripe lining made in the D plant, another with an "N8E-4179" serial number that should be Italy but the creed says it was made in the USA and that doesn't even cover the invalid month code. That one has a monochrome non-stripe lining. Then we have to one in question which has a non-standard C plant font and no stripes in the lining. The problem is that along with the standard 1997 C plant font I also have 2 other 1997 C plant creeds with serials that use that same non-standard font, and so far I've only been able to classify them as Questionable.

Here's the non-standard C plant serial in question:

Here are the other 4179 creeds I have on file:

and finally the "standard" C plant serial font for that plant, month and year:

and finally, two from different styles with similar fonts to the bag in question that seem to have the same fonts and spacing and that I marked as Questionable or Prob Fake when I saved the photos:

So was there an oddball serial stamp with a different font used in the C plant at the same time as the standard "old style" one? Maybe, maybe not, we may never figure that one out. Were both striped and solid-color linings used in the Flatiron styles? Probably. Did anyone at Coach back then understand and value the meaning of the word "consistency"? Probably not.
Although my comps have different style numbers, the font on your fake K7C (Oct. 1997) bag is different from the comps.

And for the record, I don't believe your bag has a "bullet stamp."

There are two flatiron slings on ebay now, both made in the B plant, with solid colored lining.

I'm not seeing a bullet either. And I didn't even mention the "puffy" creed stamping although some vintage bags with softer leathers or more enthusiastic creed-stamping plant employees might also have puffed a creed up a bit. Most of the puffy creeds we see are in Chinese bags, and they're as likely to be fake as genuine.

(SNORT) Where else could we go to have this much fun? :graucho:

Just keep repeating the official Coach Forum mantra: "The only consistent thing about Coach is their inconsistency. The only consistent thing about Coach ..."

Just did that.

Seller here, again. And I graciously cancelled your purchase without any fuss, even though I do not agree that the ONE item was fake.
I don’t sell as much as I used to now that I have a day job, but I have been a reputable seller of used and vintage Coach for over a decade on eBay and Etsy. Avoid me if you want but I would never intentionally mislead someone. Thanks!!
