One of the two creeds shown is fake, the font is wrong and the style number doesn't match the bag. And I doubt if the blue-ish one is a Cashin, and it may not even be a Coach. The seller has been discussed here before, about selling fakes and about the lack of creed photos. At the price they're asking and with the listing already showing a major red flag, I'd keep looking if I were you.

ETA - the seller is even too lazy to write their own description, this one looks like pieces of Ebay's "catalog.

Seller here - buyer reached out to me to cancel the order. Also - I'm not lazy and don't really appreciate that. I've been selling COACH bags for 10 years and I always include a creed photo. I think you have me mistaken for another seller. The blue one has the Bonnie Cashin embossing on the kisslock portion of the bag. I've NEVER sold fakes and after selling COACH for over 10 years I know how to spot one. Thanks

Except this time -- you did have a fake in your listing. You didn't spot this one.

And you shouldn't have described the Bonnie Cashin as a Coach since it is Bonnie Cashin for Meyers, a different brand.

Thank you very much Hyacinth. I should have done my homework and search for the name of seller first. Definitely will contact the seller to cancel the bid.

You should also read the edits I just added. I wondered if it might be a Meyers but it just didn't look like an M and what little there was that was still readable didn't look like it included the name Cashin either.

The creed is 4179 - Flatiron Sling. The style is correct. Everything on the bag is correct. It has an outlet stamp. Maybe that is why it has an "incorrect" digit?? Either way, I appreciate the service you offer to buyers and the knowledge you've accumulated over all these years. I've been a member of this forum since 2008 - and I know you've helped many people. Just maybe be kinder when talking about sellers. Kindness is good. Thanks!

Having the correct style number doesn't mean it is authentic. I agree with Hyacinth, it is fake. It doesn't have an incorrect digit - it has an incorrect font. There are other things wrong.

Please read and FOLLOW the directions and supply the information required in Post number one of this thread,. like it says at the top of every page.

And please do not use shortened URLs, we want to see the actual URLs of the listings, not a page of For Sale adverts. The only "Coach" I'm seeing on the first site is a paper shopping bag with the Coach name on it. And there's only one useless photo for the third one.

We also don't recommend buying from Facebook sellers.

i’m sorry, i used shortened URLs, coz when i posted they were dissapear.

So, is this http://olx.co.id/item/waist-bag-coach-x-pacman-original-iid-777102280 the real coach you mean?

sry for my bad english...

The serial font is one of the problems. Those Flatirons seemed to have a lot of "unusual" inconsistencies though. So far checking my files has brought up one from Nov 1997 with the Sonoma stripe lining made in the D plant, another with an "N8E-4179" serial number that should be Italy but the creed says it was made in the USA and that doesn't even cover the invalid month code. That one has a monochrome non-stripe lining. Then we have to one in question which has a non-standard C plant font and no stripes in the lining. The problem is that along with the standard 1997 C plant font I also have 2 other 1997 C plant creeds with serials that use that same non-standard font, and so far I've only been able to classify them as Questionable.

Here's the non-standard C plant serial in question:
1997_C-plant_QUEST-K7C-4179-Flatiron w wrong lining-a.jpg

Here are the other 4179 creeds I have on file:
4179_Flatiron Sling-poss FAKE-d.jpg
and
4179_Poss-FAKE-Flatiron Sling-poss-bad-creed-f.jpg

and finally the "standard" C plant serial font for that plant, month and year:
1997_C-plant_K7C-9806-outlet-tan-a.jpg

1997_C-plant-6100_Maggie Satin Duffle-a.jpg

and finally, two from different styles with similar fonts to the bag in question that seem to have the same fonts and spacing and that I marked as Questionable or Prob Fake when I saved the photos:

1997_C-plant_QUEST_H7C-9028-a.jpg
and
1997_C-plant-QUEST_A7C-9017-a.jpg

So was there an oddball serial stamp with a different font used in the C plant at the same time as the standard "old style" one? Maybe, maybe not, we may never figure that one out. Were both striped and solid-color linings used in the Flatiron styles? Probably. Did anyone at Coach back then understand and value the meaning of the word "consistency"? Probably not.

A question for the mods of this thread- can we edit posts? I just realized that one of my links has my personal information and I would like it removed for privacy. Thanks!

Click on the REPORT button that should be in the lower left corner of the post with the mistake, and explain that it contains personal info and you'd like it to be deleted.
