WE NEED ACTUAL PHOTOS OF THE ACTUAL BAG TO AUTHENTICATE IT.

BUT I CAN SEE VERY CLEARLY THE PICTURE OF THE PATCH INSIDE THE BAG, i BELIEVE THAT EVERYTHING LISTED BY THAT SELLER IS FAKE, NOT AUTHENTIC, COUNTERFEIT . AT LEAST ONE WORD IN EVERY LINE OF TEXT IS MISSPELLED. Please do not buy from that seller or anyone else selling what they say are coach waist bags like these, almost everything being sold anywhere in southeast Asia in these styles is FAKE.

DO NOT BUY ANY COACH PRODUCTS FROM INDONESIA SELLER " SHOPEE . CO .ID " seller LOOHY.ID

Here's a photo of that incredibly bad creed,

SHOPEE .CO. ID_fake bum bags-PACMAN-LG-b.jpg

• All others I purchased from this estate have been authentic but this has some odd anomalies: wrist strap attachment loop is base metal - brass worn off, same issue with the shoulder strap clasps

I apologize for the split entry! Thanks very much for your help!!

The brass coatings on vintage bags' hardware often wore off, that's not a problem. It's genuine.

Thanks very much @Hyacinth! I was under the mistaken impression that all vintage Coach hardware was solid brass. I noticed though, the original catalog description only says "Solid brass zipper" Is there any way to know which are solid brass before vigorous cleaning?

You might want to wait for Whateve, or ask at the Rehab subforum.

Also if you're using "vintage" as meaning at least 20 years old, Coach had stopped using solid brass hardware on almost all of their bags by 1990. A few Dakota styles still used it for 2 or 3 years after that but except for an oddball bag we found from Costa Rica and made shortly before that plant was closed permanently in the early 2000s, anything made after 1993 with a Solid Brass stamp on the buckles needs careful authentication, it's very likely a fake.

Hi! Can you please authenticate this for me? I was planning on just using this one for the hardware but it rehabbed so nicely. I posted it in the rehab forum but I must have forgotten to get it authenticated. Thx so much!

wow, what a deal! It's authentic. I'm not sure how they managed to do that with the strap.

The zipper rings were never solid brass as far as I can tell from every bag I've owned. Most seem to be down to the base metal. I haven't had that issue with the strap clips.

So much still to learn! Thanks @Hyacinth, I did not know that. Most of the bags I purchased in that estate sale are at least 20 years old but as some are from the early 90's, I'll be more careful during the polishing process. Thanks again!
