IMPORTANT READ-ME

Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread. No PMs please.
For further information, please refer to the first post on page 1 of this thread.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:
  • FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller and site where listed
    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Where purchased or how obtained
    Comments:
BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

Several requests:

In future, please do not include more then 2 items in one post. Sometimes the authenticators here just don't have the chance to do more than one or two authentication requests at a time. And there have been far too many times in the past when photos of different styles have been mixed up and none of us enjoy trying to sort out those kinds of problems. The forum software has a mind of its own. It deosn't help when they're all the same color either. When the colors of the bags are all the same, a separate post for each one is preferred.

Also we need to be able to enlarge the photos of the creeds and serial numbers. I would much rather either have a larger photo or an enlargable thumbnail since those particular items often have details that we really need to be able to see and read clearly down to the last detail. I'm 71 years old and my eyes don't work as well as I would like, probably because of almost 15 years of trying to see small details in photos. The back of the turnlock plate where the prongs are is also a detail that we need to see clearly. Other than that your photos are good.

Requests for names or identification of bags that don't have style numbers included in the serial number, which means any serial number from before 1994 that doesn't include any letters of the alphabet, must include the bag's measurements. There are too any similar styles in classic and vintage Coaches, we need to be able to narrow it down.

All genuine, The last two are a Tribeca Flap and an Andrea Bucket
I will limit the requests to 2 at a time from now on. Someone earlier had requested I limit it to 4. Thank you so much for your hard work and expert knowledge!

I will make sure to include large pictures on requests, make no more than 2 requests per posting and give measurements on pre style number creed identification requests. Again thank you for all of your help!

Hi. I recently purchased this bag at Goodwill and when I got home and looked up the serial number I failed to find any info. I also tried to search by image and nothing comes up. Please look over the pictures and tell me if you think or know it to be authentic or a fake. I've never encountered a Coach bag with a letter at the end of the 2nd set of numbers/letters. Thank you.

For a certain period of time, Coach used a manufacturer of hardware that had an anchor logo that they put on their products. It doesn't really mean anything, but weird collectors like me always get a thrill when we see the anchors.
Cool! Thanks! That makes it even more special.
BTW, I just read, “The Factory” (ordered it from EBay), the wonderful photo essay book about the Coach factory and it’s workers.

ETA I just found the post from 2014 where Tenny writes about the anchor hardware!
