Hi there, I found this purse on Poshmark requested a creed photo from the seller, and she snapped a pic of a known fake number 012-3445, that has already been reported here on a fake Regina. The seller has since removed the creed photo, but here is the bag and link:

Item: Coach bag, don't know style
seller: melimelo_613
link: https://poshmark.ca/listing/Host-pickCoach-brown-leather-crossbody-purse-5dd190122e7c2f16ce88d2ba
Comments: Item is still listed as for sale. Seller removed creed photo as well as my correspondence. Seller is a 'Poshmark Ambassador'.

My wife's vintage surprise finally arrived and I'm hoping the local experts can give a thumbs up for me  Many thanks for the time and effort put forth here for the good of all! If anyone needs more pics or clearer ones, please don't hesitate to ask! Time to order a brush and leather care products

Was that purchased from an online Goodwill (or other) listing?

I don't believe it's authentic. It's the wrong font for the G plant. Also, in your picture, it looks like the creed stamp is on the left side of the pocket. It should be on the right, as in this picture showing an authentic bag:

It's not the first time nor will it probably be the last time "posh ambassadors" list fakes and block those who catch them!

DO NOT BUY FROM

Online Goodwill auction. I read the anti counterfeit policy blah blah and bid unfortunately. I wonder if I have any recourse to return or contest it. Thankfully it was .01 cent shipping so I don't mind paying the return lol. Wife knew it was coming though, she is going to be sad over it. The creed appears to read differently also.

We've seen dozens of fakes sold by Goodwill Online that have "certificates of authenticity", they've been wrong at least 70 percent of the time. We advise members to never buy from them without having the item fully authenticated here first. I'm very sorry that your wife is disappointed, but better to have found out now when you can still do something about it than later.

It's against federal law to sell fakes so Goodwill MUST accept the return and issue a full refund including any return shipping. The procedure for returns should be on their website but BeenBurned can probably supply additional advice - do what she advises.

Just out of curiosity, are the backs of the strap buckles stamped "solid brass"?

I am certainly glad to hear that Hyacinth! We just stepped out but I will check and post a pic as soon as I get home. I didn't know about TPF before I purchased 10 bags from goodwill and thankfully the rest were genuine. I will ALWAYS check here first from now on. Thanks for the replies!

Even without the creed photo, you can tell the bag is fake.

I'm sorry that your wife will be disappointed but she'll be happier if you find the real deal for probably the same amount (or close to it) that you paid for that fake.

I don't buy from Goodwill's online listings but I'm sure there's a policy shown somewhere that tells how to open disputes, particularly when they sold you a counterfeit item. And even if you paid a penny for shipping, you shouldn't lose it to return the fake!

I went thrift store shopping again today and checked the glass case at Goodwill and found about 8 Coach bags. One was a pretty old vintage. This week any purple tags are 50% off and I liked this patchwork Coach handbag and it had a purple tag so I got half off $40.00.
Aprox. 12"x9" with a 5" length strap.
Could I get this bag authenticated? also how would I go about cleaning this bag? I want to wipe it down good with something but not sure what I should use.

They actually aren't even brass. The grommet holes are now obvious to me, as the backs look very cheap.20191220_173740[1].jpg

Even without the creed photo, you can tell the bag is fake.

It was my first vintage purchase. I've learned a good bit from my short stay here on the quality difference of coach genuine vs fake but still have a ways to go, and I have a LOT to learn about the vintage stuff.

I started with "Contact the seller" and left a message citing the reasons you did identifying that it is counterfeit. I'll have to look in more depth in the morning about return policies. A brief google search was not encouraging in the least so I'm glad to hear from you folks that I still have an out. I'm actually hoping they let me keep it so my first rehab test run isn't on an authentic coach. From what GW's policy states, supposedly they destroy fakes but I wouldn't be surprised if they want it back to resell it. Thanks again for the replies and patience with this "newbie" prospector. I'm still learning!

Hello! I would appreciate your help to authenticate this Taft bag. Thank you in advance!

Item: Taft
Seller: STLeatherRestoration (on Etsy)
Link: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/761...-bag-olive-green?ref=shop_home_active_1&cns=1
Comments: I know that the seller states that she has gotten help from the Coach Purse Forum to rehab the bags she finds (so my apologies if she sees my post!) but given that I have read on this Forum about how many Taft fakes there are, I did not want to take any chances!
