I found this poor, beat-up bag in a thrift store today. I bit the bullet and bought it since it was cheap, but I don't know enough about the "Made in New York City" bags to say with authority it is the real deal. I own one NYC bag and that's it. No bag tag but there is a creed inside with the xxx-xxxx style of serial number, hardware is stamped solid brass, stitching is good throughout though inside bottom panel is loose. Eyeballing it I would say it could be a Stewardess bag (but have never seen a Stewardess bag in person). Thoughts?

It's a genuine Stewardess Bag made some time between 1977 and 1987

Yay! Very cool. Poor girl looks like she's been through the wars! After I snapped those pix, I stuffed her good and conditioned the wrinkly back a smidge to get some shape back. Will do a thorough restore later. I'll post before & afters on the rehab thread! Thank you @Hyacinth

I think there should be a tag in the corner, probably lower left. Try to pull out the corner where it's shown as tucked in in the following pic. I think it might be there.

Just tried now, but unfortunately still no tab on either side, would this mean its not authentic?

There should be a small white tag somewhere inside the bag. You may need to feel around and/or turn inside pocket(s) inside out to find it.

Please post a picture.

I'm sorry. I goofed when I mentioned the white tag. Your bag wouldn't have that tag with production information because it's on the creed on that bag. I think I'd meant to ask for a picture of the made in label.

I believe that the bag is okay but would like to see the made in label to be sure.

My wife's vintage surprise finally arrived and I'm hoping the local experts can give a thumbs up for me :) Many thanks for the time and effort put forth here for the good of all! If anyone needs more pics or clearer ones, please don't hesitate to ask! Time to order a brush and leather care products :)
