Dear all.. seeking authentication when time allows, thank you!

Item name: Coach Parker

I was assured item is authentic but I really want to be sure.. thanks once again!

Where did you get it? If it was online, post the name of the seller and a link to the listing.

Carousell seller: nnarwhalss

Some of the newer bags (within the last 5-6 years) have been very (scarily) closely faked. And as such, any anomalies raise red flags.

Couple that with the fact that nnarwhalss's listing shows no pictures of the actual bag and only uses stolen stock images from Coach tells me that (at best) she's too lazy to do the work involved in properly photographing and listing her items and (at worst), allows her to hide the fact that she sells fakes and prevents buyers and authenticators from being able to see and evaluate authenticity.

I assume that the pictures you've posted are showing the bag you received and if so, there are some problems that make me question authenticity. In fact, I don't just "question authenticity," but will state that it IS fake.
  • Fake tag has incorrect font
  • Tag shows description of different (wrong) style bag
  • Creed shows non-MFF bag but made in tag has MFF marking

I recommend you return the bag for a full refund.

just a couple of days ago, I posted pictures of a similar close fake on another Asian site, shopee.sg.

Here are some older posts concerning a fake on Carousell, one that the seller claimed came from a US (*******, CT) outlet:

There's also a thread concerning a ring of sellers from Japan selling very close fakes with fake props, fake receipts and items that aren't obvious fakes.

Be very careful.

thank you so much everyone! I really appreciate the help!

Thank you Whateve.
It looks like a Dooney and Bourke all weather bag? Any idea if it is of similar material?

Yes, it seems like it's almost the same as Dooney's All-Weather leather. I think there might have been "words" between Coach and D&B about the similarities of the leathers and styles, but I believe Coach shamelessly copied Dooney.

BeenBurned, do you have any more details or corrections? You know a lot about D&B. Coach released their first line of bags in that style in Summer 1991 as the Dakota line but I don't know when Dooney came out with theirs.

I'm sorry but I don't know the answer to your questions.

Perhaps @Catbird9 can offer more insight.

Dooney and Bourne introduced their All Weather Leather line in 1983. The main difference between the AWL bags and Coach's Sheridans is that the Sheridans are fabric-lined. Both feature solid brass hardware. I've owned both and find them to be of equally high quality materials and construction.

Thanks very much for the information! I didn't know the Dooney AWL styles had been around for so long. I'll always be a Coachie, but I like the look of the pebbled leather bags from both companies, they'll always be classics.

Hi authenticators,
I just got this bag which I bought through Facebook marketplace. There's no style number so I don't know it's name.
Please refer to the following pictures.
Thank you very much.

Thank you Whateve, BeenBurned, Hyancith and Catbird9 for all the information.
I haven't worked out how to reply several posts in one reply yet. Huge achievement when I worked out how to send a Ebay link.:smartass:
I cleaned the Sheridan bag last night with some Collonil leather cream and is looking forward to used it on a sunny day. Raining non stop here in the UK.

To reply to more than one post, click on the " + QUOTE " button next to the Reply button for each post you want to reply to. Then Scroll down to the blank Reply box part of the page.
You'll have to click several more buttons after that, the first one will be a row of buttons under the blank Reply box that says Post Reply, Insert Quotes and Upload a file. Click on Insert Quotes, then you should see a pop-up page that says Review selected messages. The first few words of the messages you selected will be there, along with a Remove button in the upper right corner and a Quote These Messages button and a Cancel button at the bottom. Click on the Quote These Messages button and a new Reply box should open up showing the first part of the messages you're quoting. Just add your reply below them, make sure that you'not inside any of the [QU0TE] [/QU0TE] brackets from the posts you're quoting, and hit the Post Reply button.

Hope I explained that correctly. It takes a bit of practice to get it right so don't worry if you mess up once in a while. We've all been through it.

As for the rain and your Sheridan bag, don't worry too much about it. They handle rain pretty well. There's a reason Dooney & Bourke called their version All Weather Leather. Though I have to admit, I'm a bit nervous about wet weather too. Usually if it's reall coming down in buckets I'll switch to one of my Kiplings.

Nice explanation for posting. Lol I remember posting my comments inside quotes. At least now I know the cursor on my tablet/phone jumps around, more so than my computer.
I was thinking the same thing as I reading about rain and Sheridan’s. My black, Mahogany and BT original weight leather vintage Coach have done okay in moderate rain. My BT Bancroft got rather wet the other night with no ill effects. I still baby my like new red Pocket Bag.

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation, really appreciate that.
Yes, I have quite a few Kipling bags too:biggrin: My husband once asked me if they removed the fluffy monkey charms, would I still buy them. I said I was not sure:P
Have a lovely day.

Ps just finished work so might go on Ebay and have a quick look:biggrin:

Good morning, authenticators.

Item: COACH Vintage Bucket Feed Leather Shoulder Bag Orange
Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-Vint...dunBZcb1P0%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc
Item number: 153709719983
Seller: clickngo

So, full confession time. This listing has ended and I was the high bidder. To be honest, I decided against authenticating here first because I knew I was going to face lots of competition as it was and wasn't wanting to bring on more. The bag arrived today and I will attach better photos than were available in the listing.

I confess, also, to having re-read all of the Salearea guides before bidding. As well, I read extensively on here through everything I could find on the older duffle sac styles. While I know that the Coach cartouche was an authentic way of branding a Coach bag, I was surprised to see the cartouche on the inside pocket. One other thing that jumped out at me was the way the buckles are attached. I was expecting a single rivet but never actually saw the buckle on a separate leather tab attached to the body of the bag. So, is it authentic? I will happily await your opinions prior to either contacting the seller or drawing a bath for her orange-ness. Thank you so much in advance. Anyone on the East Coast, stay warm!!
