I’m actually a Charlie girl so its not male vs. female “stickiness” so I can’t use that excuse! My brain is just getting a bit vintage too but those guides are my new project.
I wish I could send you a piece of Royal Doulton with hand painted periwinkles to thank you for your help!

Hey, vintage brains are the BEST! After all, someone has to remember all those important facts from the past like the theme song from Disney's "Zorro" or the name of Tonto's horse on "The Lone Ranger". :coolio:

Dear authenticators! Request to authenticate please. Thank you!
Item: Christie bag I think!
Seller: thrift store, now hoping to add it to my collection!

Comments; so cute! I have a vintage Coach problem! It's an addiction!

Hello lovely authenticators! I wanted to verify 3 bags so will post each separately over the next little while - but no rush as they are already in my possession.
This is the only recent ebay purchase I will post - I had a coupon and bonus ebay bucks offer so I pulled the trigger faster than I would have ordinarily... I thought this bag looked good based on the past information posted here, and have no reason to believe it is fake. But after the recent mentions in this thread of Willis bags being the "most counterfeited" of vintage/classic styles I wanted piece of mind

Item: Coach Willis 9927 in Gray with Nickel hardware
Listing number: 264463233629
Seller: erin8969
Link:HERE
Comments: I included a closer photo of the creed and since it wasn't in the listing, the back side of the turnlock plate. Also if the experts have the actual color name for my records it would be much appreciated (charcoal gray, just gray? etc.).

I have the same bag, also from 1998. I was told here that it was just called gray.

Chrystie Bag, style 9892 from the early 1990s
Please remember to include measurements in future requests if possible.

Thank you, Hyacinth! I’m not too sure about the colour if it’s British tan. Were there any other close colours to this in that era? Thank you again for your vast Coach knowledge:smile:

It's definitely not British Tan. It's hard to guess colors online, but it looks black to me. Other possibilities are navy, forest green, or mahogany (dark brown).

I have posted this before, but I am unfamiliar with how to navigate this site and find any responses that may have been left. I have looked all over and am stumped on what bag this might be and the possible year it was designed! Thank you so much in advance!

@Hyacinth and @whateve are considerably more skilled with Sonoma and nubuc bags than I am but some big differences (from other Italian creeds and other nubuc creeds) jumped out at me when first looked at the creed.

After seeing Hyacinth's examples of other creeds that are from both Italian AND nubuc bags, the differences are more obvious:
  • Puffy creed on bag in question vs. non-puffy on others
  • D in "distinctive" and "provide" look more like O than D
  • C in nubuc doesn't have nearly as large an opening as the comps and looks like an O
  • Round "o" in No. vs oval o on comps
  • Shorter underscore vs. longer on comps
  • "F" in finest and "R" in resistance are misshapen
  • Misspelled "distinctive" (pointed out by Hyacinth)
  • Creed is stamped slightly to the left of center
  • Obvious huge space at the bottom beneath serial number
  • Different serial font than comps

ETA: Here's a post I found with an older creed and the same mistakes.

Thank you so much for taking the time to show me more examples and explaining the problems. I was motivated by a GW coupon I had even though the bag didn't feel right from the get go. All authentocators ROCK and I'm very thankful for your time.

Probably very early 70s. Probably a Bonnie Cashin design. I don't know the name of the bag.

Please Authenticate when time permits.

Belongs to my Mom
11" W
8.5" T
Has detachable crossbody strap
Thank You

If you're asking about the Rambler legacy from Poshmark, it's either British Tan or Camel. Guessing colors from photos isn't very accurate, many things can change how a color looks on a phone or computer compared to real life including what condition the leather is in, there's color variation in the seller's photos. Wait until you get the bag.
