Hi! I tried searching but didn't have luck. Right now all I have is the creed (bag is in car and it's POURING!) but wanted to post it. I honestly know next to nothing about Coach so I hope you can help!

Item: Olivey green backpack type bag with two zip pockets and a buckle
Seller: Local thrift store

Got them! I suspect it isn't real but who knows!

It's genuine, made in 1999 using Neprene, the same material as wetsuits. The line was called Neo and this style is a Neo Classic Backpack.

Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a Coach Jes bag from an outlet shop. The serial number is C1979-F72704 and is made in Vietnam. The bag looks genuine but a friend told me that bags made in Vietnam dont have plant no 79. No 79 means it was made in Cambodia. So according to her the bag is fake .
She also send me a pic with al plant codes and where they are made.

Is it true that this means the bag is fake? And could someone confirm that the attached list is correct?

Thank you!IMG-20190825-WA0011.jpg IMG-20190825-WA0011.jpg IMG-20190825-WA0011.jpg

Welcome to TPF.

I don't know where your friend got that chart with plant codes but like many of the "authenticity guides" flooding the world wide web, just because someone posts something and makes a claim as to what's authentic and what's not, it doesn't mean that it's accurate, dependable or that the person has a clue about what they're talking about. (I've never even seen a "made in Cambodia" item!)

All the above aside, there's no way to authenticate YOUR BAG without detailed pictures of the item. As far as I know, the "79" plant is in Vietnam although that doesn't necessarily mean that your bag is authentic.

Read post #1 on the first page for the posting requirements and I'll comment on the pictures.

Don't depend on anyone's list of plant codes. Codes can be reassigned, and Coach uses some codes as "floaters" to be used temporarily by any available plant they might lease for a short time. The list you posted has several differences from the one that I've collected and which I'm NOT going to post for the same reason I just mentioned. Just as one example - my list for China has 15 different codes, your list only has 4. But mine goes back 25 years.

DON'T DEPEND ON ANYONE'S LIST FOR CONFIRMING AUTHENTICITY ESPECIALLY FOR BAGS MADE IN THE LAST 20 YEARS. THE ONLY PLACE WITH A COMPLETE LIST OF PLANT CODES IS COACH AND THEY DON'T GIVE OUT THAT INFORMATION.

Hello everyone, I'm new. I hope I'm doing this right. I got excited and nabbed a goodie from poshmark and need help authenticating it.

Item: Vintage Coach Prairie Satchel
Seller: pnwposher76

Comments: It has no hang tag. I'm wondering if it's possible to pick up a hang tag from a coach store?

Thank you!

It's a genuine vintage Prairie Bag (not Satchel) made in 1996.

The leather hangtags that might be available in Coach stores won't be the same style as the one that originally came with the bag, and probably not the same color either. Coach will often send a metal hangtag and ball chain if you call their Customer Service department, the phone number is available on their website, Coach.com. They wouldn't have any older leather styles or colors in stock either but the brass-color tag they would send would still be a nice addition to the bag and it would be a genuine Coach product. Too many of the leather "replacements" available on the internet would either be the wrong color or be counterfeit.

Thank you, Hyacinth. Do you know the colours this came in and whether it has cardboard to stiffen the leather?

Since Coach leather bags were designed to be washable, Coach never used cardboard to stiffen the leather. This style has a suede lining and you need to search the Rehab and Rescue thread in the main Coach forum under "Coach Clubhouse" for something like "gramercy wash" or just ask a question about how to wash and care for that particular leather and lining. Powder Blue is probably the correct color name although the color may be more of a pale aqua shade. Other colors were Wheat and Black.
