Hello! Recently joined the forum. Please authenticate these two Coach Large Street Totes.

The first Coach Large Street Tote (black), I purchased about a year ago at Saks Off Fifth. I loved it so much that I was searching for another one of these totes. Until I recently came across the same tote in a terracotta color on Amazon. The terracotta coloured tote was from the third party seller 6pm and on the Amazon website.

Can you please verify if these two totes are in fact authenticate Coach Street Totes. The serial numbers are different for both with a letter “E” following the serial number rather than preceding the serial number. Thank you in advance.

6 PM is a legitimate retailer linked to Zappos.

I don't see any problem with either bag.

Although Coach doesn't disclose its coding system, it's thought that the "E" following serial number indicates that the bag was made for a particular retailer. Although it's not confirmed, I believe E bags were exclusives made for Dillards.

The prefixes are different because they were made in different months, years and factories. (I think this is the first time I've seen a Cambodian-made bag!)

They're both genuine. The "E" at the end of the number indicates that the bags were made for one of Coach's retail partners, probably Saks. The serial numbers are different because the plants and production dates are different and the style numbers are different because even though they look like the same style, Coach assigned them different style numbers.

Both 6PM and Sak's Off Fifth are legitimate Coach retailers. The plant codes in the number match the countries of origin on the inside tags.

Other opinions or corrections are welcome

I saved a few pics from a Cambodia-made Mini Bennett Satchel about 2 months ago, the basic creed details of the 2 bags are the same:

Good evening! I saw this creed on a Court Bag with the very faint text. Is this fake or is it normal to have this faint of an impression? Thank you.

Please read post #1 on the first page of the thread for the information and posting format for authentication requests if you want to question a specific listing.

With that said, depending on use, care, bathing, etc, the creed can swell and become difficult to read.

I provided the only information I have. This is the picture I saved, and I waited too late to authenticate. It was previously for sale and is no longer listed. Is it okay to ask about items that are not listed? I don't want to waste anyone's time, but I want this information for future reference when I see a bag in person. Thank you.

There's no such thing as normal or not normal, every stamp in every bag has to be authenticated on its own including the depth of the stamping. What's not a problem in a case like this could be a major problem in a different bag. It's not the depth or even the clarity of the stamping that proves a "Coach" is fake, but the stamping details themselves including the production codes, formatting, and fonts used in the stamping. There's no way for you to determine that by yourself.

The word "normal" isn't something we usually associate with Coach. One of the most famous "rules" that we quote about Coach is that "the only consistent thing about Coach is their inconsistency".

The creed in that particular bag is genuine. I'm guessing the bag is too but we still would need to see photos of the bag itself (if you had them available but unfortunately you said that you don't) along with the creed stamp and serial number to confirm authenticity. Sellers have been known to copy photos of creeds from genuine bags and add them to one of their listings that they know is questionable or fake.

There are no rules here at the Coach "Authenticate This ..." thread regarding whether or not an item is currently listed, although some forums here at tPF for other brands DO have rules about it. Post One of almost every Authentication thread for almost every brand will have those rules and requirements listed, or they will be posted in the brand's authenticators' Signatures at the bottom of their posts. Here at Coach we authenticate both potential and previous purchases but if it's s fairly recent purchase we still need to know where it was purchased from and the listing's URL if applicable, to see if there are important details in the description, to see if the seller has a history of selling fakes, and to be able to give practical advice about getting a refund if the item turns out to be counterfeit.

Hope that answers your questions.

Thank you. Yes, that is what I wanted to know. I didn't think of someone adding a fake creed picture.

It's also more common than most buyers realize for sneaky or lazy sellers to "borrow" some or most of their listing photos from other sellers or websites. Not only is it against Ebay rules but it also violates the other seller's or website's copyright, and of course it means that the buyer has no idea if the bag in the photos is the bag they'll actually be receiving. That's another reason why seeing the actual listing photos is so important.

Good morning, good people! My s-i-l is looking at a messenger bag on one of the private facebook group pages, and can only share a screenshot of the listing. Does anyone know how we can get around this block so I can post the listing for authentication purposes? Here's the screenshot (the picture of the creed stamp is too blurry to show any detail zoomed in--she can ask the seller for more pictures, if necessary). THANK YOU!!!!

If it was ebay (or one of several other online sites), many listings are still viewable even if ended or sold. To view them, do your search and scroll down the left side of the page to "completed listings." If you have the item number, paste that into the search box. It won't be found in current but as long as it wasn't removed by ebay, that item will come up in completed:
