Thanks, then the bag is most likely painted. I have multiple vintage bags and nothing feels like it. The leather is much stiffer and not what I am used to.
Not necessarily. It might be an unfortunate batch of hide or some inappropriate cleaner (alcohol based?) might have been used on it repeatedly. I have a bag like that - very stiff, but definitely not painted, and not abused either.

Request for authentication for a bag in my possession

Comments: bag has got one of those unusual M plant codes from 1996, found this old post with a very similar M plant code

Hi All
First I would like to thank all of you for your information and help with this Bonnie Cashin purse I was lucky enough to inheiret

Hello All,
First I would like to thank all of you for your information and help with this Bonnie Cashin Coach purse that I was fortunate to inherit. Between all of you and AUTHENTICATION FIRST I now have a LOA .
I do want to sell the purse. So I'm asking for more advice please. How do I find out what my purse is worth? and how do I go about selling it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We're not allowed to guesstimate values. The best thing to do is post at the Vintage Photos and Chat board in the Coach Clubhouse in the main Coach forum and ask for advice. All I'm going to say, and I'm not a Cashin expert, is keep the bag and box together and in the same condition they are now. A Cashin bag with it's original box in near-perfect condition is a very rare find.

Make sure you mention the stain on the bottom of the bag and show the photos. Don't try to fix it yourself, let the new owner handle that.

Dear Authenticator,

I would like to ask your kind help to authenticate this Park Tote I bought from Ebay. The bag is missing the tassels and hang tag.

It is still on its way, so if you need more pictures I will post it when I got the bag. Thank you in advance!

Please refer to the first post on page 1 of the thread for the info we need including seller ID and link to the listing. (When pictures are shown in the listing, you can save yourself some work because it's not necessary to save and post them into your request.)

Dear BeenBurned,

Thank you for your kind help. The seller do mention that the bag is missing its tassel and hang tag, which is kinda disappointing. However I really like the style of the bag.

Kindly advise whether the bag made of real python or only embossed, since the seller said that it is embossed but on other website it is said made from real python so I am kinda confused.

Thank you again for your help! I really appreciate it.

No, it's not real python. As shown on the creed, it's made of leather. If python, it would be way more expensive!

We need the Ebay link where you bought it, and the seller's Ebay ID. Also read Post number One for a description of the 2 fabric tags inside the bag with the place of manufacture and with the production codes, we need clear photos of those since it was apparently made in the last 5 years.

I don't get involved with recent styles so one of the other authenticators will look at it after you've posted the rest of the information that we need.

Hi really apologies for the late reply, I thought I’ve already sent the pictures :D

Here’s the link and I’ve enclosed some pictures of the white label inside the the pocket with the serial numbers.

Thank you
your help would be so much appreciated @whateve @BeenBurned @Hyacinth

Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure that is what happened to my Tabac classic shoulder bag. Someone cleaned it with something harsh.
