Comments: I requested an image of creed, will add as soon as I receive it. Just wondering if there are any red flags from the existing images.
The first is authentic.

I'm not comfortable with the second listing. The seller has a long history of not honestly describing and disclosing issues, listing fakes (knowingly or not) and not including pictures of necessary details that would allow us to authenticate.

In this listing in question, there's no creed picture and the front closure shows a potential red flag often seen in fakes.

If the seller can't learn from previous errors as well as include the right pictures, I'd hit the back button.

Feedback is enlightening too.

Item Name (if you know it):
    Link (if available):
Then attach any photos (all authentication must include photos.)
    • Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach.
    • Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. As suspected, the bag is fake.

Report STATION_85 's STATION 85 listing!

OMG: "Purse was extremely dirty and arrived with food in it." hahahahha. That's terrible.
Thanks BeenBurned. I posted the creed image seller sent as a reply to my initial posting before I saw this response. What is the red flag you see on the front closure? Trying to learn more about identifying authenticity.

Creed for the brown willis attached here too. It looks a little sticky to me, but I'm not sure.

Interesting.....I'm curious to see what @Hyacinth and/or @whateve think about that one.

I'm not authenticating; just observing:
  • The creed looks good to me. The stamping looks right and the lack of the month code appears to be an error. It looks like they didn't turn the dial on the stamper properly. (I've seen those types of legitimate errors.)
  • The bag (sort of) resembles Bedford flap, 4165 but I can't find (or recall) a style with the type of flap shown on the bag in question.
  • I considered that someone may have cut the creed from an authentic bag and sewed it into this one but I don't think that's the case. Lexington creeds aren't a patch but are stamped directly onto the pocket.
ETA: For the record, here are some pictures.

I think the bag may be genuine but there's no way to prove it.

It's a Soho style according to the buckle but with a striped lining, and we've seen 2 similar styles for which we only have serial numbers and photos, no catalog info. They DO have striped linings and front buckles and could belong to the same small family. The style numbers were 4191 and 4192 and both had late 1995-early 1996 serial numbers. Without a valid serial and style number there's no way to prove this one is genuine, unfortunately. Buying it to resell would NOT be a good idea.

Style 4191 may have been called either a School Tote or a Soft Kelly Bag:
View attachment 4461128 View attachment 4461130

and style 4192 apparently was called a Jackie Bag. One of the lurkers here sent Salearea this message in September 2015:
"Dear salearea,
I am a lurker member of TPF ..
Would you be willing to let Hyacinth know that her reply (post #803 in the answers to AUTHENTICITY questions on page #54) is called the Soft Kelly Bag. I just found one still New with Tags. It even had the purchase receipt from Belk from 9/14/96!!!"

View attachment 4461131 View attachment 4461132 View attachment 4461133 View attachment 4461134

It looks to me like they're closely related, the style number could be 4190 or 4193.

Thanks to both of you!

Thanks BeenBurned. I posted the creed image seller sent as a reply to my initial posting before I saw this response. What is the red flag you see on the front closure? Trying to learn more about identifying authenticity.
Although other elements are involved in accurately determining authenticity and sometimes, what can be a red flag on one item might not be one on another from a different era or factory, there are some details that indicate the item should be looked at more closely.

In this case, the red flag was the way the padding is shaped on the front of the bag. Notice how the padding follows the curve of the hardware on the authentic item but is straight across on the fake.

The following comparisons are BOTH from station_85's listings. One is the fake in question and the other is another Willis she has:
