I don't know where seller #4, Kristy - @mysuperthrift gets her information but that bag is NOT 1970s and was NOT made by Coach. And it's certainly NOT "a classic look."
(Look at the spelling on the creed: SCRTCHES and MARK-INGS!)

And if you ever buy a fake from PM, don't expect their "experts" to recognize the bag as fake. You may have a hard time winning a dispute.
Thank you very much for the advice and very helpful authentication. I thought it is fake but wanna make sure because I'm no expert.

It's authentic. The color is original.

Have you seen any other 1995 bags in that purple color? I've seen Purple in 1993 but nothing so far in the 1995 catalogs. The piping looks like a slightly different color too.

It does look like the same bag as the one that was authenticated before. I'm just not comfortable with that being the original color.

The only one I have is the one we saw February 2018 on this thread.

ETA: I had a purple Becket zip from 1993. I think the color was darker and more red than this.

Yes, I had a 1993 purple Station Bag and it was a reddish shade of purple. A bit blotchy too. I'd still have it but a previous owner had shortened the strap and I didn't notice until it was too late to return it.

Being a purple purse junky, I probably looked at every classic purple leather bag on Ebay for at least 10 years (the saved Search is still on my "My Ebay" pages), and never found any besides the ones made in 1993 that were in the '93 catalogs, and some from 1997 in that same reddish-purple that were 1997 catalog exclusives. Never any bags from 1995 especially anything that I would have bought in a heartbeat as long as it was a medium to large size and had a crossbody strap.

There was no blu-ish-purple shade that I've found in listings or catalogs until the Ink color in 1998.

I did a bit of hunting too (because I must have been bored) and found a few purple pre-1994 bags, a couple of 1997s and this from 1998; not crossbody but definitely purple.

I also found this one, also 1998:

I wasn't able to find any from 1995 either.

ETA: More 1998s but still no '95s.

Wow, thanks so much for the investigation work!!

I'm assuming all colors produced by Coach were listed in the catalogs?
(I remember being advised not to rely on Wayback Machine to see what colors were available for a particular style, because not all colors were included on the Coach website. I'm assuming that the Catalogs were comprehensive in terms of colors?)

On the extremely remote chance that this is literally the same bag that was posted here back in Feb. 2018:
@Belicious, may I ask, do you still have your purple Devon? (Or is it not part of your collection anymore?)

No, not all colors are shown in catalogs, and we don't have access to every catalog that was produced.

Hard to say. It's possible that a few colors that might have been a store exclusive weren't in the catalog but there's no way of knowing with older bags. And that's a more modern thing anyway, it's not something I would have expected of Coach in 1995. After all, they didn't even have a website or internet presense until 1997 or 1998, so there really would have not been any efficient way to advertise a special color available only in-store. And I've never seen any other example of ANY purple leather bag made in 1995, and believe me, I've looked.

The bag itself is genuine, I just think there's a strong chance that it's been re-dyed. The piping or binding around the flap edges is a slightly different shade, that leather is a different thickness than the body of the bag and often picks up colors differently. There's also no sign of wear at all in the piping around the bottom corners of the bag, and that sometimes can be a sign that a bag has been re-dyed. Most preowned Coaches for sale will show at least a few signs of wear in that area. If it's a rehab, it seems to be a good one.

More opinions are welcome.
