  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

Some hangtags can be tough to authenticate because the construction on some fakes is pretty close.

However in this case, I (personally) wouldn't feel comfortable attaching the white one to a bag.

Although I assume it's the middle white one that's causing concern, I just want to add a couple of comments:
  • Coach has made hang tags with and without grommets so the tan one doesn't raise red flags in my mind.
  • Coach has changed the shape of the charm so the top part (with the hole) can show variations

Thank you for your reply, the white one is the one that was on the purse, the others are the ones I compared it to. The white is "puffy" and the letters are imprinted not raised, with the word Coach facing the other side, that's what I noticed first.
I will put a metal hang tag I know is real Coach when I sell the bag, and toss the white one.
Thanks again.

Is this real? Found at the Goodwill boutique: Aubergine Devon? Awesome color! Seems very unusual to me.

Struggled to get a good picture of creed I hope this is okay:

Hello! Newb here, but long-time lurker! Could you please authenticate this bag? Seems you've authenticated ones like it prior, but the serial/style doesn't resemble any you've done thus far.

Name: Swagger Spectator (I believe) in Black/Tabac
Link: I've already purchased it from a local thrift, but there is one like it on Bay: COACH Vintage Black/Tabac Swagger Spectator Shoulder Bag Refurbished http://r.ebay.com/9gELDg
Dimensions: 11.5" L x 8"H x 4"D
Serial/Style No. 0349 905

I tried not to brighten my pics too much--wanted the Tabac/British Tan trim to be accurately represented. Hoping to clean it up myself.

Thanks so much!

It's genuine, Swagger Spectator style # 6820 from around 1990.

Hello again kind authenticators.
Item: Coach hang tag from a white Taylor Mini Bette bought at a consignment store.
Size: About 2 x 1 inches

Comments: I am getting ready to sell some of the bags I do not use anymore, and I noticed this hang tag on one of them. I compared it with some others and to me it looks fake. I am not sure if the rule of "in Coach there are not rules..." or something like that, could mean that at one point they made hang tags differently and the one of the purse got replaced with one.
I will never sell fakes not even a hang tag. No hurry and thank you in advance.

I'm going to take it a step or two further -

The spacing around the grommet isn't right, the font is off, and most important, the Coach name should be reversed. The C should always be at the holed end of the tag. From what I've seen so far, that seems to be one "rule" that can be depended on.

Take a pair of scissors to it.

Please confirm my strong suspicion that this is fake:

Comment: creed serial A8M-4896 on a "Court Bag" lookalike

I had the same strong suspicion.

Consider it confirmed.

From the updated copy of the Daria48 Fake Coach Numbers List, Part 1, posted at Ebay:

https://www.ebay.com/gds/Fake-Coach-Serial-Numbers-NT-4903-and-more-part-1-/10000000244432249/g.html

"A8M-4896 - ALWAYS fake and wouldn't have been used in a purse, the style number belongs only to a Swing Wallet "

Just got home from the Goodwill with two 90s Coach bags. Typically I collect early 2000's Hamptons, so I wasn't quite sure what to make of these. Usually I won't buy when in doubt, but I've been dearly wanting 90s Coach. I was also starting to draw interest from other shoppers so I didn't dare put them down just in case. Hoping this paid off! Any help authenticating these is super appreciated!

Name: Station Bag (?)

Serial/Style: B7U-5130
Comments: Missing a strap unfortunately and hunting around the store didn't turn one up. Squashed and beaten up, but structurally intact. Considering that I live in an area where 100-degree weather is normal, the leather is in excellent shape. I was surprised by how soft the not-dehydrated parts of the purse were: the leather in these places felt a little buttery. If it's a fake, it's a fake with quality leather.

Comments: I suspect the zipper on the inside pocket is not original. The purse was originally flat as a pancake, but I managed to make it stand up. To my surprise, I realized it was a drawstring purse. The leather is literally so dry I'm surprised I managed to close it. I'm also not entirely sure if, underneath all the dirt, the purse is actually black.

I'm not sure why you're concerned about the inside pocket zipper? That's the exact zipper the Sonoma styles are supposed to have. I wish the creed photo was closer and clearer but it's a genuine Sonoma Pocket Drawstring from 1997.

I hope our fellow posters at the Rehab And Rescue thread can help you bring it back to life.
