Hmmm. If for no other reason, there's a new image to add to our photo libraries!

I see nothing indicating it's anything other than authentic, but I don't recall ever seeing an authentic US "N" plant creed!

My notes show "an E4N-9927 with an old and well-worn creed stamp, N plant code may have been used very briefly in early 1994. Have photos of apparently genuine bags with C4N-, D4N-, and E4N- serials"
However, M4N-, G4N-, H4N- and J4N- codes are apparently always fake. Mexico was using the N code starting around 1998.

1994_N-plant-USA_D4N-9927.jpg

All of the genuine 1994 C, D and E plant codes seem to be in Willises. Maybe the N code was assigned to a temporary plant to handle a higher than expected production demand for that style.

ETA - I may have even sent PMs about it to you and Whateve dated May 19, 2017 according to my notes.

I'm sure I have them somewhere and just forgot and didn't look in my photos for any other examples!

I must have had a senior moment!

Thanks.

ETA: I do have the pictures. It looks like you (or I) had also saved them in June, 2016. I had several duplicates.

IIRC we discussed in the Authenticity questions thread. I have 3 pictures in my files. I have no idea when I saved them. I got a new computer and now everything has a recent file date.

The bag in question is authentic but you might want to do a search of the forum for debsw52 posts. She has a history of mixing fakes with authentic items. (While I don't believe she knowingly sells fakes, a seller who doesn't verify authenticity of her items and mixes can be more dangerous and costly to buyers than a seller who only sells fakes!)

Wow! thanks BeenBurned! that is an eye opener. I wonder where she gets all those new vintage Coach bags.
Me too!
I have been chatting up a few regulars who sell Coach, including vintage, at a local flea market. One woman buys whole lots from regular sources, another says she goes to a lot of garage sales, estate sales. I guess people in the business, so to speak, know where to tap into the supply.
