I fixed your link.

Wallets are very highly faked and many are very close. In fact, we often recommend against buying wallets without authenticating them first and not from unproven honest sellers.

I believe the wallet you've posted is authentic. Hyacinth might know the same or collection it's from.

The biggest problem is that it has a serial number in a format only seen in Korean fakes, and the creed is clearly stamped "Made in Korea". Coach has NEVER made handbags in Korea.

Wherever you bought it, get youre money back. It's illegal to sell it anywhere and it should NEVER be donated or passed on.

If you haven't bought it yet, please post where it's being sold so we can try to keep some too-trusting buyer from getting ripped off.

The Korean crooks used to limit themselves to faking all leather classic bags but I guess that wasn't enough for them. Greedy SOBs. :pout:

Thanks! Good to know. Just bought this one, until I can find my red Madison (I think it's called.)

Sorry, I don't know the name. My file on older wallets is very small and many of my scanned catalogs don't show the smaller accessories either.

Hi there-- Ok I don't buy much on eBay except when I stumble across something I can't resist like this one! Could someone please authenticate this listing which I already did a BIN. There is no creed photo and I have requested one from the seller before she sends it but is this style faked much? I did a google search and only found a couple photos but I've tracked it down to this:

Kensington Briefcase 5279
listing: Vintage Coach Leather Attaché/Briefcase with Compartments
list #301567238925
seller: nbbarrera
link:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Coa...j2XIjV2VLMZ4U3%2BNtdw%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

BTW-- for all the vintage Coach ladies on this forum-- I just got back from a week in NYC and noticed several vintage Coach bags on the shoulders of women both in the streets and staying in my hotel. And I was in Midtown! I didn't even make it to Brooklyn, the epicenter if hipsterdom and the destination of more than a few of the vintage Coach bags I've sold.

Also, there is a local network of REALLY GOOD thrift stores in the city, Housingworks, that I check out whenever I am up there. They have "window auctions" where they create window displays in each of their shops and then auction the items online (so even you left coasters could get in on the action on some really nice stuff). One window featured a vintage Whitney bag and it was up to $90 with several days to go!!!

It looks genuine but I wish the seller had posted measurements. it's probably the original Mitchell Zip # 9938 from 1993-94. The later version starting in late 1994 had a clipped strap and also a wrist strap and was style 9968.

You may want to confirm the measurements with the seller.

The seller's measurements were a little off; she provided them as the length being 10.5, the height being 7 and the depth being 2. Regardless, I think the bag checks out and I'm going to go ahead and purchase. Thanks for your help Hyacinth!

I know it's quite a few bags to authenticate, but I really appreciate it!
