OK, you're the expert on older vintage. I was worried that the font was narrower than the others and the back didn't look like it had been part of a 2-piece tag.
It's really hard to tell on hangtags. That one has been stretched out and the hole is larger than it should be. I have one in my collection that looks almost the same. The earliest hangtags were not 2 pieces glued together. They were just one sided, with raw suede on the back. On most of mine, the suede back isn't fuzzy at all. It is smooth, I guess from years of handling. The earlier hangtags also have more squared off edges, and the tab end isn't rounded.

Thanks Whateve  Any idea. How new is it? My one sided tags are from vintage bags. I seriously haven't paid attention to bags or tags beyond 2001..My brain can only handle so much.

And that's the type of hang tag you have! Those never have any markings on the back.

Here and here are a couple of examples.

NO, I have thick leatherware 1 sided tags from 1970s&80s. This one is shiny with stitching & plastic covered silvertone chain.

It's from the 2000s, probably between 2005 - 2015.
^^^ This......when I said "that's the type of hang tag you have, I meant the one you questioned. It's from "beyond 2001," an era you admitted to not paying attention to.

It's a newer hang tag and although it doesn't go with the bag, it's made by Coach.

Got it. Right now none of my bags are older than around 1990 except for one mid-1980s Twill Saddle Pouch that's buried in a bin with some other summer bags so that's probably why I haven't noticed those hangtag details. Thanks!

Good afternoon, Authenticators. I have two Duffle Sacs in brown that I'm considering on ebay. I have no specific concerns but since I've bought two fakes (and got my money and shipping back thanks to you all) I wanted to check first...

Thanks in advance for your help. No rush--I have popcorn and I'm watching the Cohen testimony. (actually they're on recess now so I'll probably do something constructive)

I found that a large pot of tea and a continually-refilled plate of Biscoffs was also effective, although in retrospect several large Double Screwdrivers probably would have been better, as well as supplying my daily dose of Vitamin C. I'll remember that next time. :graucho:

If you're buying from or communicating with seller #1, SenseAppealUnlimited, you might let her know that this listing isn't an authentic bag:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/590680...-coach-taft-handbag?ref=related-6&pro=1&frs=1

Thanks for the heads up! I reported the linked listing. Not sure how Etsy will proceed but hopefully they’ll delete the listing. I ended up not buying from the seller in the end; couldn’t quite justify cost.
I haven't found Etsy to be particularly responsive to reports of fakes any more than Poshmark.

What I have found is that on Etsy, some sellers tend to be more ethical and when notified that they have a fake (or fakes), they often end their own listing. (OTOH, there are sellers who have been kicked off ebay for having fakes and go to Etsy knowing they can sell there without consequence.)

So it's buyer beware.
