It's an authentic classic pouch, also called a classic shoulder bag, #9170. The strap looks original. Sometimes they were a little sloppy at the overlap. I can't tell if it was always like that or if it was repaired.

About when was it made?
At one time, the founder of Coach called this style the original Coach bag! It was made some time from the late 70s to the late 80s.

Hello! I wonder if anyone might take a look at this old crossbody with a 3-4 number code? Thanks so much for any help authenticating. I'm curious about that "77A" that is carved into the leather!

Hi, welcome, I was able to open the link! So when an authenticator is avaialable, they will be able to see the listing too.

That bag looks nothing like mine, mine has a pocket, this one clearly does not
@Jackiejr22
Front has the Coach logo, back has pocket.

For the benefit of others, I'm posting the listing. The seller shows the pocket side in picture #1. She doesn't show the other side but THIS LISTING shows both sides - see pic 1 and pic 2. And THIS LISTING shows both front and back in pictures 1 and 4.

This is the listing from which the bag was purchased and the bag (AGAIN) is fine.

Hi Beenburned

I just realized the creed says Hug it. Drape it. Squeeze it the leather will soften over time and take on a quality uniquely yours.
Does that sound right? Making me worried.
The creed is correct for the style of bag.

Creeds have changed over the years. Format changed, wording changed, font, font color and numbering changed. On an authentic bag, the creed has to be correct for the bag it's on.
