The serial number on the creed is H8C-9983. The bag was made in August of 1998 at Coach's "C" plant. The style number 9983 is the Regina bag's style number.

Both of them look good. They were made for the Factory Stores (MFF) and I don't have records of the names or numbers of smaller bags made for the outlets.

BTW, it's NOT necessary to include pictures of the names stamped on the zippers. The zipper brand doesn't prove anything about authenticity.

Not the zippers, unless we see other problems and ask for a zipper photo, and even then a picture of the metal pull is more important. Coach has used at least 6 or 8 different zipper brands, and YKK zippers can also be faked. Save yourself the time involved in taking that one close-up.

Hi! I’m new to the purseforum. I just purchased a Coach Whiplash Tatum Tote on eBay that I’m now starting to question if I purchased a fake or not.

I have not received the item yet and there’s not many photos. But the reason I started to question the authenticity is because of the creed. I’ve looked around at other bags in this style and they don’t have a serial number on the creed but you can tell from the photos that this one has one and the creed looks different then all the other ones. I’ve posted photos to compare the differences in the price tag and creed from other bags I’ve seen of the style to the bag I just purchased.

There was only one other bag that I found that also had the serial number on the creed as well. But I’m wondering why only some would have a serial number and all the other ones don’t?

There is nothing wrong with that wristlet. Wristlets usually don't have a creed. Often there is no labeling other than the hangtag. You can tell it was made by Coach due to the styling and the look of the label. I doubt at this point, you'll get anything from your buyer.

I can tell you why some have numbers and some don't. Coach has changed their creeds many times over the last few years, at one point omitting numbers. This style was made for full priced stores first and then later remade for factory stores. The bag you purchased is possibly one of the factory versions but the pictures aren't sufficient to authenticate. When you get the bag, post back here with better photos.
