Welcome to tPF!

It's genuine, made in 1998.

For future authentications, please be sure to include the information about when and where you got the bag and the URL if it was an online selling site, as explained in Post number One of this thread. Thanks!

Thanks so much! I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know.
Will do.

Comments: I'm just posting this out of curiosity, as I'm just wondering if this is authentic.

Looked at a few snapshots from the Coach website from 2004, on Wayback Machine. Coach didn't list red as an available color in any of the snapshots I looked at.

Also, about the color. In the photos, the color looks a bit like it was dyed or something, or a bit off, but maybe that's just the flash.

Anyways, if you have time, I'm interested in your option. Hope it's ok I'm posting out of curiosity. I'm just interested, and would like to get better.

It's authentic. Red was usually a standard color for Coach. Not all colors are shown on the Wayback Machine. I don't think it was dyed but something may have been applied to the exterior. It's a bit shiny. It could just be some kind of conditioner.

By the way, it isn't a court bag, it's a Willis.

Just to add to what's been said about the color - NONE of the "classic" bags' colors made in China in 2004 ever made it onto the main website OR the Wayback website. Those colors and bags from the start were made for the outlets, they probably all have outlet stamps, and none of the specific outlet styles OR their colors including Aubergine and several shades of blue would have been on the main Coach website. There are at least 5 or 6 colors made in China in 2004 that you won't find on any the Wayback pages. The Wayback only shows one specific date and any colors made for a different season from that date OR colors that had already sold out probably won't be in the Wayback. Outlet-only items had their own site that during that time wasn't accessible to the public OR to computers in the full-price Coach stores either.

That's AMAZING, katev, it looks like brand new! It's delicious!

I know, it's gorgeous! I have been carrying the bag for a week and a half and I really love it, thank you!

I wasn't sure what wallet to wear with it, but then I remembered the Poppy Whipstitch wallet that @BeenBurned had pointed out to me for my Buckskin Soho Leather Laced Flap bag. I tried them together and I think that the natural leather Poppy wallet looks great with the Mahogany Woven Bleecker!

Does anyone know if this is authentic? It's so cute, but I'm confused by the lack of serial number.

  • If the bag in question is not on an auction site, please use the following:

Item Name (if you know it):
    Link (if available):
Then attach any photos (all authentication must include photos.)
    • Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach.
    • Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number.
