Item: vintage green coach crossbody
Listing number: 283358120466
Seller: mitchieepoo
Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/coach-purse-crossbody-leather-new-/283358120466?txnId=1946232883018

Comments: I do not think this is authentic due to the color of the gold and it being made in Korea and not having “No” before the creed but the seller seems to think it is
You are correct.

Any bag that says it was made in Korea is fake.

ETA: mitchieepoo had a fake Coach Korean-made bag back in October:

Please authenticate this messenger style should bag. Thank you in advance for your time and information
item : Messenger style coach shoulder bag
Seller : GFC. Louisburg, NC
Listing number : none
Link: none
7 inches tall, 9 inches wide, about 2 1/2 inches at the bottom side. Sorry that the creed picture is blurred on the side. The back has a pocket, and I didn't know if the messenger bags would have had one. Thank you again.
It's fine.

I’m confused, the creed tag says 9215 is that not right?

If you haven't already read and Bookmarked the Salearea Guides posted in the thread of the same name and Pinned to the top of every Coach Shopping index page, please do. The ones on Creeds and on Serial numbers explain Coach's numbering system. Serial numbers in items made before 1994 do NOT include the style number in the serial number.

Read the Guides and a lot of questions will be answered.

I'm not sure why you're thinking it's a messenger bag. "Messenger" just means a generic style of larger bag with outside pockets, a very long and usually very wide crossbody strap, and are usually unisex, think of the usually waterproof bags used by bike messengers which is where the word comes from. I also don't understand why a messenger bag couldn't have an outside back pocket.

They're large enough for things like papers, large mailing envelopes, files, and even full-size laptops.. The bag in your photos is a Devon Bag and never would have been called a Messenger. Messenger styles usually aren't handbags and AFAIK Coach hasn't ever used that term for any small to medium handbags, except for a few with the "Mini" designation all of Coach's styles using the word Messenger in the name are at least 13 inches long. You're making assumptions that aren't based on facts.

HERE is what Coach considers "messenger bags" although the smaller ones are more correctly considered "crossbodies":

Thank you for the information. I am new to collecting vintage Coach bags, and that is why I am coming to this forum, as well as trying to read other available information in order to learn the facts. If I make mistakes or assumptions that aren't based and facts, I am willing to learn. I also do appreciate the authenticators are here reply very quickly, are knowledgeable, and are doing this for free.

Can anyone provide more information about this bag? Whateve posted about it a while ago, but I couldn't find any follow-up. Please let me know! Thank you!

Since you say you're new to Coach especially vintage Coach, here are two pointers to help you ease the transition -

First, read the Salearea Guides thread posted at the top of the Coach Shopping index and refer to them often. They're NOT an "authenticity guide" and one part of the six-part guide set explains why there's no such thing. They concentrate mostly on older and vintage Coach details so I hope they'll help
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/salearea-guides.983575/

Second, and this is covered a bit in those Guides especially the "authenticity guides" one - don't EVER depend on anonymous and almost always massively outdated "authenticity" or "how to tell a real Coach from a fake" guides that pollute the internet and some blogs. The reasons why are in the Salearea Guides. And ignore anything you've heard or read about YKK zippers because 99 percent of it is totally wrong. Any "guide" that claims YKK zippers prove something is genuine isn't worth the electrons it took to post it.

Welcome to the world of Coach!
