Hello Experts,

Wondering if this bag is authentic. It looks good to me but then again I want to be sure. Thanks in advance!!

Item : City bag
Seller : TheAftCabin
Listing number : 665469228
Link : https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/665469228/vintage-coach-leatherware-walnut-brown
Comment : the listing also says the colour is walnut brown. Wondering if that just means dark brown? Looks dark brown to me...

It's authentic from 1996.

I think it's mahogany.

BeenBurned is right according to my 1996 Fall and Holiday Coach catalogs. The only color for the City Bag listed in either one that's anywhere close to a dark brown shade is Mahogany.

Thanks for the info Hyacinth!

Do you know if there is a colour called elephant gray? I was looking at another bag listed as elephant gray that looked dark brown. When I requested more photos of the bag the colour actually looked more like a grayish brown, which was a bit surprising (but I was glad I asked).

Thanks again!

Coach never used that name AFAIK. Some seller probably just plucked it out of thin air. Depending on what month and year the bag was made it might be the Taupe color from 1995 or one of their few shades of gray from the 1990s. They came up with more fanciful names after 2000 but I don't remember any mention of elephants or any other semi-gray animals.

The seller is located in Manila.

I'm sorry @criseldaph but I've seen too many close fakes coming out of the Philippines and can't recommend buying from sellers there.
The seller just told me that there's an ink stain at the back of the bag before shipment of my order and I already paid yesterday. Here's the pic.

As a compensation, the seller gave me an offer to deduct $9.56 from $57.36 that I paid OR get the coach wallet AND bag for $95.77.

Can you help me authenticate the wallet please so I can decide if I should just refund the money or bite this offer?

Another seller who can't be bothered to do any research...

The bag isn't from the 1970s, it's a style 9907 Logan Bag from around 1992-94. The seller actually claims "Handmade in USA in 70s (from XXX-XXXX numbering)" but a Coach made in the 1970s very likely wouldn't have any serial number at all, and it certainly wouldn't say "made in the united states"
I’m confused, the creed tag says 9215 is that not right?

I wouldn't want either and would request a refund. Why accept a discolored bag if you were buying and expecting brand new?

Additionally, the bag and the wallet aren't even the same colors so they don't match.

As I said earlier, the fakes being sold in the Philippines are very close fakes and I just don't feel comfortable recommending buying from sellers in that country.

I do get that you want to support commerce in your own country but after looking through the seller's facebook and the various brands, items and prices of her items, I don't feel confident about authenticity.

I understand. Thank you for your advice. I guess I don't have to buy the wallet anymore. The seller said that their items are 100% authentic and they have a money back guarantee if proven fake. She said that their items came from Japan. All of those are preloved items so right from the start, they said that the sling has dents (if you remember the picture that I posted yesterday). The only problem is that the seller has just mentioned that there's an ink stain at the back just before sending it to me via courier so they deducted the amount.

In my opinion, the seller acted in a deceptive and manipulative manner. I'm sorry this happened to you.

Please authenticate this messenger style should bag. Thank you in advance for your time and information
item : Messenger style coach shoulder bag
Seller : GFC. Louisburg, NC
Listing number : none
Link: none
7 inches tall, 9 inches wide, about 2 1/2 inches at the bottom side. Sorry that the creed picture is blurred on the side. The back has a pocket, and I didn't know if the messenger bags would have had one. Thank you again.
