I love the tattersall Bleecker bags and I have lusted for a Woven Pocket Hobo 12378 from 2008 for a long time, but they are always listed for more than I want to spend - and I already have too many bags anyway!

This pocket hobo had been poorly listed on Mercari for a long time and I had "liked" it in the past, but I didn't buy because there weren't enough pictures (not even a picture of the creed) and it was more than I cared to spend at $50 + $8 S&H, especially on a rather "loose" site like Mercari.

I received an email notice last night stating that the price of the bag had dropped to $26 + $8 S&H and I decided to buy it before someone else grabbed it - because a total of 14 people had "liked" it.

The pictures are poor and few but I think that this would be a hard bag to fake because it is so detailed, and from what I can see, it looks right and it doesn't appear to be too badly abused. I also thought that the other coach items that this vendor has for sale looked okay (at least to me!)

I will not ask you to authenticate the bag with such scanty information, but I'd really appreciate it if you could just take a look and tell me if you can see any red flags that I've missed? Thanks so much!

Item: Coach Shoulder Bag
Seller: Lindsay Guidoboni (see: https://www.mercari.com/u/614511460/)

Comments: You need to use Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari to see photos on Mercari.

I found this stock photo of the Woven Pocket Hobo on-line just for reference. Do you happen to know if the brown color of this bag was called "whiskey" or "mahagony"?

The color code was right in the URL or code of the stock photo in your post. Right-clicking and using "select element" brought it up.

ma = Mahogany. But the bag in the listing looks more like Whiskey, there don't seem to be any red tones. But I don't know what colors were actually available on that style.

I don't think that's authentic but other opinions are welcome.

Some of the cases do have the Coach logo on the outside upper right under the flap but it should be higher up, closer to the zipper.

And the indentations on the back of the female part of the closure are wrong.

ETA: Here's a comp:

COLORGUARDJAMES -
I agree with BeenBurned and Whateve. That's an example of why I wouldn't recommend buying those styles unless they'd already been authenticated here.

Coach mahogany varied over the years. Often it didn't have any red tones. As I said before, whiskey wasn't a color used for Bleecker.

Ok Ladies, i'm very nervous about this one and confused.
It came with a dustbag and wallet, has Coach leather accent on side but the Creed patch and hangtag are off center, the wallet looks authentic? I appreciate your expertise

THANK YOU!!! I didn't even think it wasn't , I have to pay attention more and my fault for not asking to see more pics that would've helped me. Thank you! That's why I didn't accept the order yet so i'm getting my money back.

Regular readers of this forum and thread would have spotted several major problems right away without needing more pictures. The C pattern isn't correctly centered (NOT all Signature pattern Coaches have centered Cs but the standard Sig C pattern styles almost always do, at least 98-99 percent of the time) and the creed stamp says the bag was made in the USA. Signature C styles were never made in the US. AND the creed says the bag is made of glove-tanned cowhide. If creed photos are included in a listing, read them carefully.

Hello ladies! I have an update from ebay and this fake Willis! He tried it!!! However...once I talked to you ladies the past few days, I did some research myself. I looked into the Federal Trademark Protection laws. I took screenshots of the messages we sent. Once I hit him with ALL the info I found...he wouldn’t even respond, he just accepted the return. I’m going to be looking out for him to try and sell this bag again!

I am pretty sure this bag is fake and some one is going to fall for it.

Coach Rogue 25

Seller: nomore187
Comment: note it doesn't say pebbled on the bottom of the bag. Also the bottom panel is smooth leather. I think the stitch color is also wrong.

Compare to this Rogue 25 which I believe is authentic

Not an authenticator, obviously, but that hang tag is also clearly wrong. Are we ok to report it?

I just want to clarify something that sounds as though you've misunderstood. In your message to the seller, it sounds as though you are assuming that if an item isn't sold as "authentic" then it's okay to sell.

Counterfeit items are illegal and disallowed PERIOD. Any item with brand name markings, logos, etc. MUST be authentic whether advertised as such or not. Even if a seller admits it's "fake," "replica," or adds an authenticity disclaimer stating lack of knowledge of authenticity, that doesn't make it okay to sell.

If you see the bag listed again, post it on the Hall of Shame so we can report it.

Oh no, I absolutely understand that selling any fake is illegal, I didn’t mean to sound like as long as they disclose the fact that it’s fake then it’s ok. I’m definitely keeping my eyes open for this seller to relist this bag. Thank you ladies for all the help you all provided :idea:
