I'm not sure why you think there's a problem?

Coach has changed stamping details many times over the years. You should ONLY compare stamps from the same plant, month and year and for similar styles. The stamping on that bag dates back to the early 1990s and is perfectly correct for that bag. It's genuine.

Ok, thank you! The font of the number 3 was really throwing me. I've searched creeds, trying to find from the late 80s/early 90s and couldn't find one that has a number 3 that looks like that. What this picture doesn't show is the bullseye/target stamp indicating a factory bag. I'm not sure if counterfeit bags have ever been made with that mark.

The fonts of individual numbers aren't usually a problem unless there's another red flag somewhere on the bag. You don't have to analyze every individual number, the "No" and other small details are much better indicators. Both creed and serial number stamps could and sometimes did get damaged and repaired.

Does this bag actually have a factory outlet stamp? Please try to include that in future authentication requests. While we've seen a very small number of probably-fake outlet stamps there's no telling how many more might be out there in the wild. Bags made before around 1989-1990 won't have outlet stamps. While an outlet bullseye can never prove a Coach is genuine, it improves the odds a bit.

ETA - and as Been Burned mentions in the following post, a fake can be "returned" to the outlet for credit or refund and mistakenly or deliberately put into inventory including getting an outlet stamp.

We've seen fakes with bullets.

Whether the bags were mistakenly accepted for return by Coach or if the counterfeiters put it there to fool is unknown, but yes, there have been fakes with outlet bullet marks.

Those blasted cases were faked a LOT and can be very tough to authenticate. I wouldn't recommend buying them to resell. Can you include a photo of the entire panel of the red turnlock one showing the Coach stamp and how it's positioned? We'd also like a photo of the back of the turnlock plate, the piece showing the prongs and how they hold it on.

I'm not even going to try doing the tan one. You may be asked for more photos of that one too.

Comments: Been on the hunt for authentic British tan straps around 1/2" wide with gold dogleash hooks. Plan to interchange strap between this bag and the Carousel bag (missing strap) I have.

(Thank you in advance.)

Comments: I am wondering if this is authentic. I have been drooling over this bag for years and am tempted to bid if it is real. The seller doesn't appear to have any selling feedback, just buyer feedback from over a year ago which worries me. Also wondering if you think it is in decent enough shape. It seems like there is just minor wear and possibly some staining in the inside lining. s-l1600 (1).jpg s-l1600 (2).jpg s-l1600 (3).jpg s-l1600 (4).jpg s-l1600 (5).jpg s-l1600 (6).jpg s-l1600 (7).jpg s-l1600 (8).jpg s-l1600.jpg Thank you in advance!
