It's authentic. The leather is vachetta.

There have been fake bags with fake bullet stamps. I haven't seen any fakes with Xs but I imagine that they're not hard to fake.

Interesting to find it's vachetta. It screams "beach tote" to me (or at least that's what I plan to do with it), but vachetta and the ocean aren't usually friends.

Thanks for answering about bullet and X stamps. I was wondering if they were good for anything should I have to make a snap decision in the field. I guess if the bad guys had to copy from a creed that had either, so would their counterfeit.

Thank you!

I'm assuming the year of production is different because of the different plant?

Not necessarily. If a style was very popular it could have been made by at least 2 different plants in different countries at the same time. Coach has usually had at least two plants, often more, running at the same time since 1988, and the same thing is true with current production. Of course it's a lot more common now than back in the late 1980s when sale volume was much smaller and Coach might only introduce 5 or 10 new styles every year.

Oh, okay. Thanks for the wonderful info! So sorry, I'm still trying to learn all of this. Asking questions of such wonderful experts as yourselves is a great way to garner knowledge of the vintage Coach world [emoji4]

Ask whatever you like, there's a wealth of information and a solid core of experts, sellers, collectors and rehabbers here and at the main Coach forum. Spend a little time looking through each thread in each forum and get an idea of what kind of information is available and where. The forum's software even has a Subscribe feature if you find a subject or thread you're really interested in, like the Rehab and Rescue thread in the main forum.

Hmm, I did not catch that. I didn't post this one because it looked like it had more wear. The photos for the Etsy one must be not quite true to how it appears in real life.
It is really difficult to photograph whites/ivories. Sometimes the flaws are even less noticeable in photos than IRL. If you want the one on ebay sold by azuremerekat authenticated, we would appreciate if you would post the required information, so someone else can find it in a search and we don't have to authenticate it again. It is authentic.

This is my first Goodwill (hopefully) authentic Coach purchase. I apologize if the format is incorrect.

Please let me know if any more photos are required. Thank y'all so much! I really appreciate what you ladies do here.

Edit to add: Is the leather trim vachetta, or just very light colored? Thanks!
Edit #2: Do fakes often include bullseye outlet or "X" final sale stamps?
The D ring was common in bags of this era. It was to clip your keys or a wristlet to. I think Coach stopped putting it in bags as a cost-cutting measure.

You can clean the vachetta with vinegar and a magic eraser. It will lighten it some. Then I think Cadillac conditioner will protect it.

Comments: Does it look like the strap was cut?

Ya think?

ETA: At least she describes it:
"I am listing it in this condition because it has a few issues with the bag - there are some pink spots on the inside lining of one of the compartments, the end of the strap has been cut off a couple of inches and a new hole was made on it"

Thank you! I don't like to think I'm missing pieces.

Thanks again! I didn't know there was anything that could be done to clean vachetta.
