Comments: I've fallen in love with my late mom's british tan 9085. Hoping to snag this one to switch up. Definitely looking for something darker. Looks rough though I think I can clean it up.

The numbers on the receipt from a Coach store match the style and color codes on the price tags. And the numbers match all the other White style 17421s listed on Ebay. There's no doubt in my mind that the codes match the bag you bought.

Regardless of what other shades of white other sellers are using to describe that color, Coach calls it White. And in all the photos it looks like what I'd call White.

If you don't like the leather or the color, then sell the bag.
I have conceded that the color is considered white.

However, you're quoting from a tag that was found on a purse on a different forum, not eBay, and the purse did NOT come with that tag (or any tag), but an original recipe from a Coach outlet mall.

Thanks for answering my question. I am sending the bag back. I would not have bid on it if I would have known it was patent leather.

I found an ecrater listing for the same bag and the tag shows "white" as Coach's name for the color:

http://www.ecrater.com/p/11803506/coach-stitched-white-patent-leather

This bag must have quite a story to tell. That listing from ecrater has the tag. The tag was not included with the bag nor in the pictures.
I think you misunderstood my post. The purpose of my post was to show a picture of the tag for a bag of the identical color and style of yours to show that the seller's description of the color as "white" is the correct name for the color.

There's no reason for her to elaborate as to the shade of white because various "shades" are subjective. Some might call it off-white, others call it bone and yet others call it ivory.

But again, because Coach named the color of that bag as white, that's 100% accurate as the color the seller called it.

The message you're referring to isn't visible when using eBay on my iPad. I never saw it, and wish I had.

Plus, the numbers she wrote are from a recipe that was in the bag, which was originally purchased at a Coach outlet.
Your comment about not being able to see the ASQ on your iPad is a common complaint sellers have because buyers purchase items on their phones or iPads, can't see all the pictures and/or description then complain that they didn't notice something that was clearly disclosed and described in the listing.

I'm fixing your link because the URL you posted doesn't work:

Please authenticate. I want this to be real!! The seller is a person from Facebook who uses the atrocious Coach Authentications FB page to have his things authenticated. I am hoping this is a Sonoma wallet. Photos attached. He said there are no tags inside and he did not see an embossed Coach logo anywhere on the wallet.

The only place my smaller Sonoma wallets have a stamp is inside the zipped coin compartment. There's no way to say if it's a genuine Coach but it could be.

In future, please post the information requested in the first post of this thread including the link(s) to the listing. Thanks.

NO, saying the item is not the color you think of as white is not a valid reason for return. Cream, Bone, and Off-white are still white. And Coach calls the color White on its tags.

And actual patent leather IS leather, just a different kind. The creed patch for that style says it's made of full-grain cowhide leather.
WOOHOO Hyacinth!
Well stated!
:okay:

Thanks for responding.

I couldn't figure out how to post the URL as the listing had closed and showed too much of my info.

I did look, and does coach lists the color for that purse as white. It's not what I would consider white. I do under stand listing info but even sellers description should have mentioned patent leather and the true color. It's a nice bag, just not what I want.

Thanks again for your help.
She did put up a lot of photos and it looks like patent leather in the pictures,
I'm surprised you did not notice that.

yikes! thanks for pointing that out. here's the link that pops up via sharing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/321696687398?roken=cUgayN&soutkn=O4h41k

i've updated my post. hopefully it'll work now.

If not, this should:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/32169668739...op=1&_dmd=1&_ipg=100&_nkw=321696687398&_rdc=1

The piping has holes in it, you might want to look for one in better condition. AND ONE THAT'S GENUINE - THAT ONE ISN'T. The serial font isn't right for a D plant bag. And the strap grommets are silver.

Here's a GENUINE H4D- serial stamp:

Please wait for Hyacinth or Whateve on this one but this is my observation:
I don't believe it's authentic.

The creed font and text don't match other bags from the same month/year/plant.

Compare:
dewdoggie 's creed:

And the listing you posted has the same font, same serial number and the bag shown below is NOT style 9085. This one is fake:

HOW DID I DO, Hyacinth?!?!?!

WHERE do I say that I'm quoting from a tag on a purse in a different forum???

As I ALREADY SAID - THE STYLE NUMBER AND COLOR CODES WERE LISTED RIGHT IN YOUR SELLER'S LISTING AND YOUR SELLER SAID THEY WERE COPIED FROM THE RECEIPT. I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT "ANOTHER" LISTING ON "ANOTHER" SITE, I'M TALKING ABOUT THE LISTING YOU BOUGHT THE BAG FROM. THE ONE WITH THE SAME LISTING NUMBER AS IN YOUR SCREENCAP. THIS ONE, NUMBER 151614503893:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-White...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

CHECK THE ACTUAL LISTING ON A REAL COMPUTER IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME. In your seller's Q&A section is posted:
Q: What is the serial number on this bag please?
A: 885135593500 there is another number F17421 SV/WT. These numbers are on the receipt.

Here's your seller's listing:

HOW DID I DO, Hyacinth?!?!?!

VERY good, BB !!! :D

Hi, I have a few Coach items that I've owned for many years, and there's one that I need some information on. I know that all of the items I purchased are authentic, because I bought them at a small Coach store, but this particular accessory was a gift. I would really like to know the style name and number, as well.

I believe it dates to the early nineties, and was most likely purchased prior to 1995. It is a small, black wallet or change purse, rounded with a flap and tab closure, a zippered center, and two small compartments. It has few identifying features. It has a brass magnetic closure, and there is a sticker inside that reads "U.S. PAT 4021891 MAGNETIC SNAP 62670650." It is stamped "COACH" right under the flap, and the zipper is stamped "ECLAIR." I would like to attach a few pictures, but I'm not sure how.

If anyone has any information about my vintage 90s piece, I would really appreciate the assistance. Thank you so much!!

Thank you, the pictures are a HUGE help. If it looks like the accessory in the photo below and the description and measurements match, it was called a Hamilton Mini Purse, style 7327 from around 1992. (For future requests, please post measurements too.)
