Hi, I have a few Coach items that I've owned for many years, and there's one that I need some information on. I know that all of the items I purchased are authentic, because I bought them at a small Coach store, but this particular accessory was a gift. I would really like to know the style name and number, as well.

I believe it dates to the early nineties, and was most likely purchased prior to 1995. It is a small, black wallet or change purse, rounded with a flap and tab closure, a zippered center, and two small compartments. It has few identifying features. It has a brass magnetic closure, and there is a sticker inside that reads "U.S. PAT 4021891 MAGNETIC SNAP 62670650." It is stamped "COACH" right under the flap, and the zipper is stamped "ECLAIR." I would like to attach a few pictures, but I'm not sure how.

If anyone has any information about my vintage 90s piece, I would really appreciate the assistance. Thank you so much!!

We really need to see photos. Check the FAQs section for information on posting images and photos. Sometimes the ONLY thing we have to go by is one tiny photo of one side of an accessory in a small catalog so we need to see images that might look something like the catalog photo, and even then we may not be able to find them. Accessories are the hardest things to identify and often aren't in our catalogs.

Coach used a variety of hardware so details like patent numbers aren't any help. They also produced hundreds of different accessories in the 80s and 90s.

Thank you. I'm going to try to edit my post ASAP.

I managed to add two of my photos to the original post. Thank you so much for your time! :smile1:

Hi... Could use your help.

I bought the attached bag and felt I was misled. The bag is PATENT LEATHER not leather as it is listed on the site. I am relatively sure it's authentic but I didn't know Coach made patent leather bags. I just didn't know. What year was this bag manufactured?

Second issue is its not white. It's Creme, bone or off white.

My question is... Would you return it if you felt the bag was misrepresented? Am I entitled a full refund (including shipping) or just the item price? (Paid $137.50 not inc ship)

I wanted a white leather Coach bag!!

Please post a link to the listing. We can't authenticate with the mini pictures in your uploaded screenshot.

As for the item specifics, I'll comment:
1. patent leather IS leather so it's not mis-described. Perhaps the seller should have elaborated in the description saying it's patent leather
2. In item specifics, sellers have to choose the color closest to what it is. There isn't always a specific color, (ie ivory, bone, off-white, etc.) option to pick from. Thus white is the closest.

I'm not sure of Coach's name for the color of your bag because without the style number and/or creed picture, I can't look it up. But I believe the color name (used by Coach) is white.

ETA: Here's the listing:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-White...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

The style number is 17421 and the bag is authentic although she should have shown a legible picture of the creed.

Off to try to figure out the color.

Most of the other listings describe the bag as "ivory" but without a picture of the tag to see how Coach named the color, I don't know whether ivory or white is their actual color.

Maybe someone else knows the color of the bag.

In future, please post the information requested in the first post of this thread including the link(s) to the listing. Thanks.

NO, saying the item is not the color you think of as white is not a valid reason for return. Cream, Bone, and Off-white are still white. And Coach calls the color White on its tags.

And actual patent leather IS leather, just a different kind. The creed patch for that style says it's made of full-grain cowhide leather.

While you're at it, report em**chen's completed/sold listing too:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-9870-...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

ETA: It looks like you sell on a non-ebay website so you'll have to report as a VeRO infringement. In fact, listings removed for VeRO reports suffer a larger ding to the account so if you can get these listings removed, the seller will get a strong message.

Applying for VeRO isn't difficult and well worth it.
How can I report a VeRO violation?

http://pages.ebay.com/help/tp/vero-rights-owner.html
Thanks BB. Seller has replaced my pics on the current listing with her own and I have reported the ended listing also. Will check out VeRO.

Thanks for responding.

I couldn't figure out how to post the URL as the listing had closed and showed too much of my info.

I did look, and does coach lists the color for that purse as white. It's not what I would consider white. I do under stand listing info but even sellers description should have mentioned patent leather and the true color. It's a nice bag, just not what I want.

Thanks again for your help.

I found an ecrater listing for the same bag and the tag shows "white" as Coach's name for the color:

The seller lists the color codes on the tag as SV/WT in the ASQ section.

The message you're referring to isn't visible when using eBay on my iPad. I never saw it, and wish I had.

Plus, the numbers she wrote are from a recipe that was in the bag, which was originally purchased at a Coach outlet.

The numbers on the receipt from a Coach store match the style and color codes on the price tags. And the numbers match all the other White style 17421s listed on Ebay. There's no doubt in my mind that the codes match the bag you bought.

Regardless of what other shades of white other sellers are using to describe that color, Coach calls it White. And in all the photos it looks like what I'd call White.

If you don't like the leather or the color, then sell the bag.

Please authenticate. I want this to be real!! The seller is a person from Facebook who uses the atrocious Coach Authentications FB page to have his things authenticated. I am hoping this is a Sonoma wallet. Photos attached. He said there are no tags inside and he did not see an embossed Coach logo anywhere on the wallet.

Bump?
