Ya think?

ETA: At least she describes it:
"I am listing it in this condition because it has a few issues with the bag - there are some pink spots on the inside lining of one of the compartments, the end of the strap has been cut off a couple of inches and a new hole was made on it"

I really need to start reading the descriptions more carefully, instead of just scanning them.... [emoji15]

Edit: Actually, I think she must have added this to the description after I messaged her asking about it. That close-up picture of the strap that you posted wasn't there before either.

Hey whateve...thanks for this!
You're welcome!

Comments: Does it look like the strap was cut?
I hate that! I think the seller was hiding it by the way you couldn't see the end in the pictures. I bought two bags at thrift stores this summer that had straps cut and I didn't notice until I started rehabbing them.
Thank you! I don't like to think I'm missing pieces.

Thanks again! I didn't know there was anything that could be done to clean vachetta.
You're welcome! I found the vachetta trick on some site that rehabbed LVs. I haven't tried Cadillac on it yet as I just got that, but I did the other stuff.

[/ATTACH]Is this where I ask to authentic a coach?

It looks ok but wait for more opinions.

ETA - Sorry, I missed that BeenBurned had already answered.

In the future, please use the format requested in post number One of this thread. It also helps us if you include a bit more of the lining around the creed so we can see if it has any pattern or logos.

If you're the winning bidder you should consider asking the seller to cancel the sale if you've already paid. That chop job on the strap pretty much ruins the bag unless you have a replacement strap made just for a Sheridan, and along with being several different sizes and widths not all Sheridan straps are replaceable.

VERY good decision.

Cutting off the end like that was just totally senseless, whoever did it.

Once I had found out that the strap was cut, I was a little angry that the seller hadn't disclosed that in the first place. I only picked up on it because I thought something looked a little off about the strap end in picture number three. In the end though, I was happy that the seller did come clean, by updating the description and adding two additional photos -- that's something at least.

True. There WAS a winning bid though, I hope the buyer spotted the addition too.

That's a problem we see quite a bit with classic and vintage bags. When the style changed from what we used to call "shoulder bags" meaning having a long strap that let the body of the bag fall between the waist and mid to lower hip, some owners just chopped off and re-holed the straps to match the new shorter styles. It often wasn't done very neatly and almost never was an improvement. Always check the end of the strap on older styles to check for chop jobs.

Oh, I hope that the seller added the additional information before that bid was placed!

I will be sure to check the straps out more carefully from now on.

Thank you Hyacinth. Sorry for not posting in the requested format as these items are on a Facebook Buy Sell Trade page, so there would be no links and I only have the pictures that the poster has provided.
