Hi -
I recently came across this purse and I need help authenticating. I have several coach purses in this style, but this is the only one that doesn't have the coach marking. The only stamp I could find was a star 202? It feels just like my other penny bags in workmanship and quality. Could it be that the silver coach stamp could have fallen out? I've also never really seen this sage green color.

Several things that our other vintage experts can clarify if I'm wrong -

I'd like to see a better photo of the strap clip, it doesn't seem right. A clip-on strap was a newer addition and it seems like a bag new enough to have a clip-on would also have a creed stamp.
I've never seen a Coach turnlock stamped Solid brass.
A sage green color would be VERY unusual on a vintage Coach.
I don't see any indication of any kind of Coach identification. If the metal plaque had fallen out there should still be small holes (plural) from the plaque in the leather.
The stamp on the inside is probably from the leather SUPPLIER, not the bag maker. Italian suppliers used that kind of marking.

I don't think it's a Coach, but Whateve needs to take a look. She may suggest posting in the Vintage Photos and Chat thread
Waiting for more opinions.
It's not a Coach. I've seen that "solid brass" stamp on the turnlock on non-Coach copies of Coach styles. Coach never used that hardware. I agree, the strap clip looks different from the type Coach used.

Would really appreciate some help authenticating these two:

First time posting. Hope I get the format right!
Both are authentic. The first, the unknown Dakota style, is probably from the early 90s. The second is not a Bonnie Cashin. It was made between 1989-1993. It is a big rehab challenge unless you are planning to dye it.

Thanks for replying so fast! You are absolutely right, rehabbing the second one would be a big challenge. Probably need to think about it more carefully before purchasing. Anyhow, thank you again for the speedy reply!

Any help authenticating this purse would be great! The purse looks good to me but the strap looks way off for some reason. Thanks for your help!

I think it looks okay. I've seen straps like that. The hardware does look awfully silver though. I can't recall ever seeing any hardware that wasn't brass on BC bags. More opinions are welcome.
