Hello all! I just picked up this little cutie that I believe is a "Dinky"...at least that's what I'm seeing folks on the web ID it as. I'd love to see if it's the real deal.

Hello I bought this bag and got it and it has no serial number anywhere. It just has a made in Philippines tag. I’m convinced it’s fake but seller said she bought at Coach store. Is this a fake? Thank you!

Item Coach City Tote

Listing Number no listing number Poshmark.

While I consider Poshmark to be a landmine of fakes and I generally don't recommend nor authenticate listings from the site, this is a case where I'll make an exception.

1. I wish buyers would verify their concerns before accusing a seller of listing fakes. (I'm not just referring to you, but other buyers have done the same, often alleging a fake when the item is authentic.)
2. The pictures in the listing aren't adequate to prove authenticity. Although inadequate, there aren't any red flags.
3. You asked the seller for a receipt, presumably as proof of authenticity. You should be aware that receipts don't prove anything since they can both be faked and/or genuine receipts can be used to "prove" authenticity of fakes. It's the details of the bag itself that determine authenticity.

Since you have the bag in your possession, I'll request a couple more pictures from you. Please post pictures of both sides of the "made in" tag sewn inside the bag into a lining seam.

Also, there should be a white label inside the bag. You may need to feel around inside the bottom of the zipper pocket, possibly turning the pocket inside out to read and photograph it. Please post a picture of the white tag with 2 rows of letters and numbers.

If there are other areas of concern surrounding the bag, please post pictures of those details.

I’ve never had a problem with Poshmark I’ve bought and sold more than a few bags and they were all authentic. I consider myself pretty good at spotting fakes so this one threw me. I have a closet full of bags many Coach and this one just didn’t feel right. Here are the pics
The bag is authentic. It's a MFF (made for factory outlet stores) bag and was made in 2015.

When comparing details, you MUST compare apples to apples and your bag's creed is absolutely correct for that style.

Here are a couple more examples of the same crossgrain leather city tote:

This one is a different style number (different pattern) but the same style bag with the same creed.

Not authenticating this listing from Your good fortune @yourgoodfortune (AKA yourgoodfortuneonline on ebay) but commenting on the seller.

Post from January, 2017 in which yourgoodfortuneonline had a fake Coach keychain:
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/authenticate-this-coach.889527/page-1308#post-30978347

And in this post from March, 2016, she had a different fake keychain:
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads...oach-fakes-here.824098/page-209#post-29959469

And on Poshmark, she sold this fake in June (after it had been removed from ebay).
https://poshmark.com/listing/New-Co...Dog-Keychain-Crystal-5b0a7bbb357a580492f79206

In this post where I posted side-by-side comps of yourgoodfortuneonline's ebay listing of a fake strawberry keychain she'd listed was ultimately sold on Poshmark. Apparently she had more than one of the fakes:
Sold in June: https://poshmark.com/listing/NEW-Co...ychain-Red-Fruit-FOB-5ae6bf29250c5dc323d09531
and
Sold in May: https://poshmark.com/listing/NEW-Co...ychain-Red-Fruit-FOB-5b02305aa8399ef37fa87e92
Sold in April: https://poshmark.com/listing/NEW-Co...ychain-Red-Fruit-FOB-5ae51069300be425efd30831

There have also been cases where she's used pictures stolen from other sellers.

I wouldn't buy from this seller.

Ive been looking for a bag to maybe try to rehab and this one caught my eye. I messaged the seller to ask for a clearer pic of the creed but they said they are out of town and unable to at this time. Can it be authenticated as it is posted?

Thanks I appreciate it!
I can see enough of the creed and serial number to know it's authentic but I'm always skeptical of sellers who are "out of town," "too busy," "on vacation" or some other excuse why they can't send pictures.

Too often, they're hiding something and know the creed will "out" their secret.

But again, that's not the case here.

Awesome thanks! I was skeptical as well, as ive messaged a few others and they either 1) undated the listing to show the request or 2) sent it to me. So it really threw me because their reply was almosy immediate. I have also seen some ebay listings that say "this seller is away until xx date so things are delayed etc". I appreciate the assistance though!

1 AND 2 - PROBABLY OK, but more opinions are welcome. Those Initial charms are very hard to authenticate because Coach made at least 2 or 3 different versions in each hardware color and with slightly different details, different color combos and even leather textures. Unless I had the exact letter and exact color combination for comparison, I personally wouldn't be confident that I could authenticate it accurately. Maybe someone who has more experience with them can. Below are all the pics I have of the different S charms with nickle hardware and I don't know if these are the only ones Coach made. s.jpg 92216_spr2008-d1.jpg 92391_svmc_a0_front.jpg

3- looks OK, style 92477 Daphne Flower Multi Mix

4- genuine, style 92831 Leather Duck Keyfob

Thanks @Hyacinth! I do appreciate your help. I'll wait to see if others have more feedback on the letter charms.

Please refer to the boldfaced part of the first post (page 1, post 1) of this thread for the pictures that are needed. The listing doesn't have enough of the right pictures.

DON'T leave any Feedback until the situation is resolved, and I strongly recommend that you ask BeenBurned for suggestions and follow her advice, she's helped more tPF members than I can count to deal with problem sellers. And from the nasty coating on your bag to the screamingly obvious fake "Prada" s/he stuck another buyer with, " aric4430 " DEFINITELY fits my definition of a Problem Seller.

Good luck!

Seller messaged back and said she used Simply Natural Leather Seal on the bag. I can’t find that exact product anywhere but google responds with similar products containing BEES WAX.
