Hi Everyone! I have a question. Coach bags of the same style will never have the same serial number? except of course for the last digits that would stand for the style number. I assumed serial numbers are unique for every coach bags?

lol!
You're welcome!

Isn't it only true that the seller only pays commission on an listing ended early if there are bids? Since there aren't bids, can't she end one of these early without a penalty?

I got confused last month because they offered free BIN listings but they weren't free for renewals. I copied my listings so they would appear new and qualify for the discount. Now I have multiples of the same item in my unsold listings, and several times I have accidentally had the same item listed twice, once as a BIN and the other as an auction. If this happens, I don't want to end the BIN because I've already paid for 30 days on it.

No you have to pay a fee even if there are no bids.
Update: (May be different now, not sure if it applies to auctions or only BIN..will check!)
They claim it's because they don't want potential bidders/buyers to be disappointed, boohoo
the real reason is that ebay feels people might be making private deals to circumvent the final value fee...so you pay that fee even with no bids.
BIN listed at $100 and you end it, you're going to pay $9.00 fee ($10 if you don't have a store).
THey let you have one "forgive", the first time and then that's it.
Another reason to love feebay.

Hi! I just received my ebay purchase. Could you kindly help me to authenticate it? The size of the creed on this bag is much smaller than that on my 9870. Does the size of the creed vary in Coach?

i am having difficulties putting the pictures up, so i am going to put my dropbox links

Not true. Bags made prior to 1994 should have a unique serial number, but bags with a style number often have the same prefix. The prefix stands for the month, year and factory of production. Since they would gear up the factory to make a particular bag, they would make a bunch of them at once, and all those made in the same factory and same month are going to have the exact same creed. For items that aren't produced in large quantities, it is likely for the entire production quantity to have the same creed.

I've ended several BINs early when I've sold the item on another site and didn't get charged FVF. I've never had it happen on an auction yet, but I guess I could potentially sell an item on another site while I have it listed in an ebay auction.

The bag is fine. Next time, also include a link to the listing. Creed sizes vary some. I just measured a bunch of my vintage or classic creeds and they ranged from 2 inches to almost 2 1/2 inches.

Just a comment on the sample bags. They do exist. I happen to have one. I had 2 of the store bags in my hands after they came out. They apparently sold rather quickly at Coach. The bag is from the mens line. Most people don't even know about the bag since it was a men's line production.

A year or 2 later, I came upon one on eBay. Got it for a steal. One day I will use it. It is suede so now is not the time of year to pull it out.

SHOE, here's another example - have you ever seen this as a production bag?

I found what I'm sure is a late 1990s Sample or Pilot bag on Ebay several years ago. It's a messenger style so it may have been made for the Mens' or Business line but I've never seen another one. It's 13x8 with a crossbody strap, two HUGE gusseted front pockets, and a full-length outside open back pocket (I'm a fanatic about useable outside pockets and this one scores a 10 out of 10 in that category). No organizer pocket, just a regular zipped pocket on the inside, COMAG or ROMAG mag snaps, and all classic Coach quality.

Serial number is A8H-0000 which can't be anything but a Sample, we've seen other genuine bags with exactly the same prefix and creed stamping - lightweight and very squishy leather except for the reinforced area on the front flap. No idea if it was designed as a business bag or a handbag (it works both ways), but I LOVE it. :smile1:

Please update with the seller's response. (this should be good!)

I am not sure if the resolution of the issue is right, but I am leaving on vacation Thursday after work and I didn't really wanted to deal with this now.

I wrote to the seller saying the bag I got was not the one on the pictures, different creed, etc... so it was undeniable and I was not happy with the transaction. Seller replied almost instantly to send the bag back, I would get a full refund and may be a credit for the inconvenience. (No sorry, no I made a mistake...)

I thought about it for a minute, and actually I do not mind the bag, a different story with no second thought, would have been if a fake was sent instead, but this one I know I can make it look much better, but not at the price I paid because it was for a different bag.
I replied that if willing to give a credit, I would take it and keep the bag. I got no other reply till this morning when I saw was a partial refund on my PayPal. I am OK with the new price of the bag.

Now I need your advice on how to leave feedback that could help other possible buyers. The seller is still dishonest but she (and it is a she) worked with me. Do I leave a positive stating the facts of the transaction or a neutral?

I have not seen that one. I have the suede 70132.

Oooooo, the Varick Suede Flat Mail Satchel? That's a great style! I've only seen one photo but I love the way it looks. Does it have a crossbody strap, and how big is it? Around 12x12?

And it has POCKETS! :D

I think I saved a description. My desktop search is messed up so I am indexing the search. If it is done before I head to work I will send you the description. It has a long strap and nice pockets.

Thanks, I should add that one to my Searches. I found the smooth leather version and it has the long strap so the suede version probably does too.

That's up to you. I would personally leave the same comment I mentioned before but try to fit in "got full refund" or something like it that would fit in the 80-character Feedback limit. Other buyers really should be warned about the seller, I don't care how many refunds she gives.

One of the things we were told over and over again in Sales is that on average only one out of ten people will complain when they're unhappy with a product or seller. I make it my personal choice to be that tenth customer.

But then I'm not a very forgiving person. :D :lecture:
