We've seen colleenk415 's listings as well as other sellers from the Brooklyn/Manhattan area of NYC who claim to be selling samples. Their bags have either unverifiable (99999) style numbers, missing style numbers or style numbers that aren't correct for the styles of bags these sellers sell.

I don't recommend colleenk415 and would advise caution when dealing with sellers who claim to be selling samples.

Interesting~
I have looked over all of the items in the past posts and these also, and they really do LOOK authentic,
as far as details.
I will try to get more info about how she acquired the items and any sort of
paperwork she might have, or name of employee etc.
I'll let you know!

My personal opinion is that she's FOS and I (personally) doubt that any items are authentic. Her pictures don't enlarge and critical details are just out of focus enough to make noticing irregularities impossible.

Look at her listings. All serial numbers are illegible, although only unreadable enough that it doesn't look intentional.

ETA: Here's another post which within the post references one from 5 years prior that discusses NYC sellers.

SHe has a few other designer items listed as well -
Some are designers that are not faked, like Jack Spade and Reed Krakoff,
I absolutely trust your judgment though so the investigation continues!

Thank you. No checkbook cover, but still a nice looking wallet!
You're welcome! Very nice looking, for sure!

The problem with samples is that there is no way to ever prove they are the real thing. We can't authenticate them. They rarely sell for much, probably for this reason.

True that!
I wrote right back to her requesting more info because I was concerned about not being
able to authenticate based on the style numbers - asked her where she got them, etc.
I was very polite, not accusatory or anything. No response. Maybe tomorrow.

Well, well, well! It looks like seller momnmemphis might be eavesdropping on TPF!

She has removed the stolen Etsy pictures from her first listing and removed a reference to Kate Spade from the listing thecollector629 .

I contacted her pointing out there seemed to be pics of two bags and one was a Coach, which one was for sale? I received this reply, by which time the etsy pic had been removed.

"it is VERY similar to a coach other than the brand! otherwise identical, but their are only 2 photos its both the same bag"

I also reported the KS for KWS. I can't stand sellers like this! :pokey:

I can't seem to be able to copy the creed photo.

That phony creed patch for the not-alligator bag is a huge red flag. It seems to me that legitimate Sample bags would use the standard leather creed stamp instead of falsely describing the material - that's what fakes makers would do. It also seems to me that any company using a false declaration of materials would be in violation of some sort of Federal Trade Commission regulation.

The "No" has the o sitting halfway above the N, has anyone ever seen that on recent bags? The plant code looks like "05", the stitching around the patch overlaps in the wrong place. And look how the zipper in the back pocket is installed - wavy and crooked.

I'd insist on seeing a store receipt for those bags - whether samples or not, whoever is selling them has to be collecting sales tax, and has to be giving receipts. I don't care if the seller covers up the prices but I'd want to see if they're being sold by the actual manufacturer or at least a legitimate retailer who has access to that company's sample bags.

If they say they bought it from someone who said they worked for Coach, that's not good enough. (And I know Coach sells to employees, but you think they'd at least mark or stamp the creeds somehow like they used to do with the "employee" and "FS" for Final Sale stamps!)

I think this applies to any company that sells its products to employees. Those employees buying bags, whether "samples" or not would be required by company policy to be able to show proof of payment for those purchases. (Even cashiers at the grocery store need to show that they paid for the chips and Coke they bought for their break.)

Employee theft is a huge issue everywhere and there's no way these items were sold sans receipts.

Additionally, since she's supoosedly an employee and knows enough about serial numbers and creeds to explain away discrepancies, she further knows the importance of a receipt to prove that these "sample" bags are genuine and not well made fakes.

Again, although I don't feel comfortable enough reporting them, I (personally) believe that bags being sold as samples by sellers like colleenk415 and randiesstuff are fakes and I don't recommend buying them nor doing business with sellers who claim to be selling sample Coach without proper proof of authenticity.

Well, her response was very uninformative...
"
Totally understand your concern! I'm a former Coach employee (former Kate Spade employee too) and all bags listed have been purchased at employee sample sales. Most Coach samples are made with either a sample creed # on the inside story patch, or none at all. The benefit is that these are mostly totally unique bags - some styles never even went into production. Samples also have the benefit of being made with the utmost quality and craftsmanship. Hope this helps!"

Passing on all these listings!
THanks girls!

"Utmost quality and craftsmanship"? Like the zipper on the back outside pocket of that green not-alligator bag?

And I'm still waiting to see just one receipt from one seller of these "samples". Or are we supposed to believe that Coach doesn't give receipts to employees?
